Have a lab who is convinced that every meal is his last and will disappear if not consumed in under 4.3 seconds...Is that a good thing? No. Have I tried other ways to slow him down? Yep. Does this work? Kinda..... Let me explain: It's durable plastic that can take a beating and "keep on ticking". Good design (tried several out) and like colors (so easy to spot and tell apart when feeding more than one dog). Bought SEVERAL of these bowls so I obviously like them. Dogs won't hesitate to eat from them and, fun fact, they are dishwasher safe as far as I can tell (on both top and lower levels). Great weight - not too light and not too heavy - will stay in place with a little movement while dogs eat, but I can easily lift and fill.Sooooooooooo...........As great as this product is and as much as I like it - why only 4 stars?Because when you have a ravenous canine who really NEEDS to slow down their rate of consumption the bowl WILL SLIGHTLY slow them down, but their meal WILL NOT transform into the pace of a leisurely summer picnic. It will prevent gulping and INHALING of food/air which is really what striving for, but food will still be quickly eaten..... on second thought - yep. Should give it 5 stars. Because unless I'm going to scatter like chicken feed or drop on floor like a trail from Hansel & Gretel, nothing will truly be slowing my dog down..... EXCEPT for this bowl!!!!!!!

This bowl was a lot smaller than I thought. It works fine, but it's tiny. It's light weight and it suctions well to the ground, so it doesn't slip around when my dog eats. It's decent quality, not too easy to clean, but a value for what it's worth.

Purchase this for my beast of a puppy who can’t seem to slow down when he eats. This has been super helpful and slowing him down and allowing him to actually chew his food. He has to work on it for a while to get all of it, which is very rewarding for him. It’s a decent size though I do feel like sometimes I have to fill it twice to feed him. He has a rather large breed though, so I’m not surprised by that. Worth the money. I also like that they had a variety of different styles of this and the color I chose is really cute.
