Citronella Scented Deterrent
I ordered this in an attempt to keep a roving tom out of our garden and away from our own cat. So far, there hasn't been any sign of his return and it has meant our cat has been a little more relaxed. This small bottle came in a Amazon envelope, so the outer box got a little dented in the post, but luckily the bottle was undamaged. The bottle suggests it can make up to 12 spray bottles if deterrent spray but I've made up a solution which used a fair few more drops than suggested...My aim was to spray a large area of roofing which backs onto our property and where the male comes into our garden. Seeing as it is too high up to reach, I've mixed a strong solution in a bucket and used a child's water pistol toy to shoot it onto the roof! It was quite effective, although I'm not able to see exactly where it landed... Luckily the roofing slopes away from our garden so all the solution stayed out of our flowerbeds. So far, I haven't seen or heard cat fights during the night and my cat hasn't returned with any war wounds, so perhaps the solution is working for now.I suspect I'll likely have to reapply after some wet weather, but there is plenty left in the bottle. For £9.99, you get a decent amount of scent deterrent, and I like that you can choose how to apply it or at what strength.

Actually works - not a cat in sight
I was slightly sceptical about using this product as I couldn't believe that just a citrus spray would be effective, but I'm happy to report it's working and so far I haven't seen a single cat.I was getting sick to the teeth of going out in the morning to see plant pots turned and after going on the CCTV - it would be the neighbourhood cats doing it. They were having a field day with not only rolling, tipping and crushing plants but it had become the public toilets for them too! They were literally destroying my garden and after spending a fortune this spring getting it done I was furious. They were knocking plants over and specific ones were destroyed but then when I used lemon peel, they started to move onto others. I noticed several plants stunk, were going yellow and dying, and we're also were crushed - low and behold, they were using them as toilets.I don't have a water supply out front, so sprinklers aren't an option and it's actually impossible to make the front cat proof due to having privets & low walls, so I needed to find a humane solution.I have been using this now for a week and already the plants are coming back. No longer am I finding pots knocked over and no longer am I seeing crushed yellowish shrubs.I use this in a small spray bottle each evening after watering or if it's rained. There's 30ml in the bottle and that should be enough to last ages as I put around 20 drops in the bottle and it hasn't even dented the overall level. So far so good and no cats to report are bothering the plants. I'll continue to use this product indefinitely. You can also smell the citrus when outside which has provided a fresh scent in the garden. It's simple to use, put the amount of drops you want in your sprayer and away to go.Highly recommend!

Keep your garden cat free (results may vary)
It's hard to accurately give a good representation of if this works or not, as not all cats are the same! However, it is commonly accepted that most cats aren't fond of citrus-type smells, and this is basically a concentrated bottle of citronella, orange and lemon oils, and nothing else (incidentally it smells lovely and could even be used to add fragrance round the house or put in a wax melt device). As it is so concentrated it can make a large amount of spray, up to 12 bottles at the lowest suggested concentration, or more realistically 4-8 bottles if you want a higher concentration. At first it might not seem the oil is coming out when you tip it to mix it up, but give it a few seconds and it starts to come out nicely in drops. Don't tilt it too far upside down to allow you to control it better. You will need your own spray bottle of course, but aside from that you're good to go. I've sprayed it around the top of the fence where my neighbour's cat likes to come in and do their business and chase the birds away, and so far I haven't seen it try to do it this week. You will need to reapply after it has rained, and perhaps top up periodically during dry seasons.

A spray each day, keeps those cats away!
This cat repellent oil is very easy to make up into a spray bottle. Depending on the strength you need, you can make up to 12, 1 litre bottles, roughly one bottle per month. It has a lovely citrus scent, that is completely natural and safe to spray near my plants in the flowerbed that the cats tend to use as their litter box. The cats however, don't like the smell, as they have avoided the area for over a week now.I have reapplied this after rain as I would imagine it gets washed away and diluted even further. This is only a mild inconvenience though, and if you are a tending to your garden anyway, it really is no bother. This cat repellent oil was £9.99 at the time of this review. I think this is fantastic value for money as it could potentially last a whole year, depending on the size of the area you are spraying. And most importantly, it works! Just keep up with a spray everyday / every other day and after rain to deter thise cats from visiting.
