Nillkin Cube Pocket KeyboardSetup and Testing: This is a test of the Cube foldable portable keyboard. I started by connecting the keyboard via Bluetooth to both my iPad (BT1 channel) and iPhone (BT2 channel). Bluetooth setup was straight forward as per the instruction manual. Here’s a summary of the testing process: Smooth typing on the iPad and the Bluetooth connection holds with no drops. Switching from iPad to iPhone works as advertised with no issues. Now switch back to iPad (i.e. Simply switched from BT2 (iPhone) to BT1 (iPad) and it worked flawlessly). No issues. Turn off Cube Keyboard. Reconnect to iPad was flawless as the keyboard remembered what it was last connected to.Observations/Impressions: The numeric keypad/touchpad combo is handy and helps provide the features of a full size keyboard. Use the touchpad to navigate and perform “mouse” operations and switch to the keypad function when needing to deal primarily with number entry. Note that there is subtle tactile feedback from key depressions. It’s not bad, just different and takes some getting used to. Once one uses the keyboard a bit you can get used to it. While your experience may vary, for me the short stroke depressions allow me to type faster than with a longer stroke PC-type keyboard. The keys are flat and only have raised bars at the bottom of the “F” and “J” keys to help with hand and finger placement for touch typists. The square keys are .615 in (15.63 mm) in measurement and with a key separation of .099 in (2.51 mm) that provide adequate key separation when typing. Overall, this is a very nice easy to carry rechargeable compact portable keyboard that supports a switchable Bluetooth connection for up to three devices. Worth the price if you need a compact portable keyboard for your travels which can connect to multiple devices if needed.

I needed a small keyboard to stow in my backpack to use with my iPad so I gave this one a try. It came packaged really nicely, the box, inside the box, the presentation of the device when you open the box. Nicely done. The keyboard came with a very nice thick drawstring carry pouch and a charging cable.It is a tri-fold design that feels very nicely made. It has a faux leather like material covering the back of the keyboard and when it is folded it feels solid. It has a full set of keys, a touchpad/10 key pad and an fn key to access the funtion keys and keys to select bluetooth, fn lock, battery level track pad or number keys and others.The keyboard is about the size of a laptop keyboard so not too cramped. I can not type by feel and even looking my fingers don't always go where my brain tells them to and I didn't find typing on this little keyboard any different than a laptop. The feel is obviously different because it is not attached to a laptop with a wrist pad. Accessing the function keys or other special keys that are usually their oen key on a keyboard isn't that big a deal and works fine. The touchpad works nicely, I hooked this to my laptop for kicks and I had to slow the mouse speed down as the trackpad was fast.The nice thing is you can hook this keyboard up to 3 different devices via Bluetooth using the BT1, BT2, BT3 keys. I have it on an iPad and Android tablet.This is a nice keyboard, seems well made and should last a while. I have not run it out of battery yet so has lasted a good while on the charge it had when I opened the package.So far so good on this one.

This foldable keyboard by far offers the most reliable bluetooth connections that I have tested. The others either don't pair too well to your devices or don't reconnect right away until a key is pressed. The other nice feature of foldability makes it a perfect travel companion with its compactness and minimal size. The keyboard comes nicely packed in a tray with a charging cable, a protective pouch along with a manual. The manual can be a bit confusing to some but the keyboard functions are easily interpreted. The keyboard itself is well built with an aluminum frame, very thin and the keys are quiet to type. I wish that the keyboard is equipped with a front riser to elevate the front a bit for easier typing. Once opened, its a full size keyboard with a numeric keypad on the right. The numeric keypad is of smooth surface and can be selectively turned off/on to become a trackpad (eliminating the need of a mouse) via a set of keys. The keyboard offers 3 bluetooth connection modes to 3 different devices. Once a bluetooth mode is selected (via Fn and BT1, BT2 or BT3 keys), the keyboard can be paired with your chosen device via pairing mode (via Fn + Pair keys). Pairing is quick and easy. Once paired, it remembers the paired device and will connect to it automatically the next time the keyboard and bluetooth connection is turned on and selected. The bluetooth reconnection is instant, unlike other type of bluetooth keyboards which wait until one key is pressed on the keyboard. This is a very nice and welcome connection feature. A set of keys can be toggled to display the current charge state of the keyboard with different levels denoted by different. colors. I have tested this keyboard by pairing it with 3 different devices (a macbook, an imac and an ipad) and have switched its use alternately between all 3 devices and not missing a beat. I am quite impressed with its ergonomic features and functionality. And let's not forget that it folds up neatly to be stowed away for easy travel. Great product !
