Vera Bradley Medical Professional Backpack, Indiana Blossoms Navy, One size

A gift for my mother’s caregiver. It’s very pretty and I am sure she will get great use out of it. It’s vinyl although until I felt it, I was sure it was fabric. Seems too be well made. Bought the matching lanyard too.

My daughter is a cardiac nurse. This thing gets dragged to work every day and seems to enjoy the challenge. Staying beautiful and intact.

Wife loved it for her Nurse job.

Love the bag, however I’m not happy with how it was just smushed into a box that was too small causing it so have a dented impression in it. After paying over $130 for a bag I expected better packaging than that!

I’d initially planned to get this for my sister-in-law, who will be back in school for an RN to BSN program this fall, but I like it so much I may end up keeping it for myself. This looks like a bag for an adult professional; I don’t think this would look at all out of place with a suit when I’m traveling to conferences. The quilted fabric adds a subtle feminine touch, and, while I don’t think the floral lining is Vera Bradley’s cutest print, it doesn’t detract from the bag. The stitching and overall workmanship are excellent.The zippered compartment nearest your back just fits my 15” laptop. It’s well padded on both sides and the bottom of the compartment. It is quite secure, and I like that it is entirely separate from the biggest compartment where I’ll keep my books. It is a little odd that the double zippers of the laptop compartment can’t open symmetrically; one size can unzip most of the way down the bag while the other stops just past the dome of the bag. I’m not sure of the rationale behind this design, but it doesn’t seem to cause any problems. The main compartment has room for multiple notebooks and large textbooks. The back of this compartment has one large and two small slip pockets. The next compartment has a variety of slip pockets, pencil slots, and a snap for retaining keys or an ID badge. The very front pocket is pretty flat and has no internal organization. The bottom compartment is lined with the same wipe-clean black material as the outside of the bag and has two small vents; it is a good size for shoes, but gym clothes would be a tight squeeze. The side pockets for drinks are made of stretchy mesh with an elastic top; they can securely hold a 750 mL Camelback Chute and a 48 oz Nalgene Silo so I think they should work well with a wide range of bottles.This bag does have a sleeve so it can slip over the handle of a rolling suitcase, but the rubber zipper pulls are solid and can’t accommodate a travel lock. The back of the bag is padded, as are the shoulder straps, but not particularly thickly nor with ergonomic features like extra padding at the lumbar. This might not be the best choice for commuting on foot with a load of heavy books and a laptop, but it would make a fine work or school bag for a car commuter.

This is a professional-looking black bag with a very colorful and happy print for the inner lining.Vera Bradley products like this bag are sturdy and made from high quality materials and fabrics and with expert stitching.The outer shell is padded enough to offer extra protection for the items inside and is water resistant and wipes down easily if it gets wet or dirty. The back of the bag has a thick but unobtrusive luggage handle strap. The back compartant is extra padded to protect a laptop or other electronics. The main compartment is very roomy and has 2 medium sized pockets and 1 large one. The front compartment is also roomy and has a bunch of pockets and storage spaces - a short long pocket, 2 places for pen, 2 medium pockets, and a large pocket plus a snap loop to hold keys or an ID badge. The outer front of this compartment also has a large zipper pocket. Uderneath the bag there is a large space with two ventilation disks to hold wet or dirty shoes/umbrella/spare set of clothes/medical equipment/etc. There are 2 large mesh pockets for water bottles/snacks/stethoscope/etc on the sides.This bag is marketed towards medical professionals and it would be perfect for the nurses and doctors I know. I am using it as a medical bag since I am frequently visiting clinics and hospitals for various testing and medical procedures which sometimes require me to travel out of state. It holds everything I need to take with me with a bit of room left over and makes my trips easier and less stressful. I love how easy it is to wipe down and the number of pockets it has. The bottom ventilated space is unique and inmovative and a brilliant solution.Another thing I like is the straps are padded nicely and the cloth straps used to customize the fit are a lot softer than most backpacks - they aren't the scratchy and rough nylon but probably made of cotton or cotton blend. It is a small detail that I really appreciate and that lends credence to this being a quality bag where even the smallest details have been improved upon.I love this bag and will continue to use it for many years.
