Vaultek VR10 Lightweight Bluetooth Smart Handgun Safe Smart Pistol Safe with Auto Open Lid and Rechargeable Lithium-ion Battery

You will be happy with this purchase. The Vaultek VR10 holds almost exactly a Glock 19, three magazines, and a speed loader, which should give you some idea of the size. It comes with everything you'd want: Security cable, two keys, Lithium Ion battery already charged, charging cable, mounting screws, extra battery compartment screw in case you lose one, and clear instructions. That would be great for most gun safes at this price.However, the compelling thing here are the electronic features. This has a smartphone app with which you can open your various Vaultek safes, see the battery life, adjust the brightness of the interior light, and it notifies you if the safe has been tampered with. The keypad has 5 backlit buttons, numbered 1-5, and allows a 4-8 digit security code. It reacts instantly, and backlights when your hand comes close to or touches the unit. It locks securely with pins on both ends of the lid.Using the keypad, you can also check various functions; battery life, toggling sound on/off, tampering, etc. I like that it has a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, which is so much better than regular batteries. Comes with the charging cable and a port on the outside of the VR10. The bluetooth is paired through the app, not the phone's bluetooth settings.The VR10 has a substantial feel to it, a healthy weight, as though no corners were cut in the manufacturing. If I had any complaint, and it is hard to find one, I would question that the battery indicator on the keypad shows 75% charged while the App says 100% charged. Even with that, this just seems like a superior product to the cheaper safes out there, offering so many more features, and giving you everything you need in one package. It is clear that Vaultek is working hard to create a great product.

I have owned the VAULTEK VT20 for about 5 months and have been very satisfied with the quality. I keep the Bluetooth off for added security and better battery life.The VR10 is a new addition for on the road security. Vaultek has remove some of the interior padding on this smaller model, but the quality is still there.I added photos with a standard sized 1911 to show some of the scale. Note the H&K USP is a tight fit on either model, but an extra magazine is not an option with the VR10, because all dimensions have been reduced.

This is day one and I’m pretty impressed. This thing is sturdy, easy to use, and reliably opens. The Bluetooth works great. As a reminder this model isn’t WiFi or fingerprint enabled. I got this safe after being disappointed by another brand. This one is clearly superior.I really like that the app lets you know if someone has tried to open it or tamper with it. This could be handy if curious kids manage to access the safe. You can nip that in the bud before they hack their way to your gun. If you travel and someone cleaning your hotel room wants to take a guess to see if they can get lucky, hopefully you’ll know before they figure it out.My only compliant is so slight that it doesn’t even bump this from a five star rating but it’s worth mentioning: the programming instructions for the Bluetooth setup are slightly different in the manual vs the app. For instance the app tells you to hit the 4,5, and program key at the same time to connect to set up for Bluetooth. The manual tells you to hit 4,5 at the same time followed by the program button. It makes a difference and I was frustrated setting it up following the app instructions trying to hit all three buttons at the same time. The book saved me and everything went smoothly. I figured I’d write a note here so they either update the app or someone reading the review can do it the easy way the first time.

Love this safe. Seems to be well made, easy to program a new combination, and the bluetooth capability is cool. With the phone app you can change the brightness of the interior light, open the safe, and check the history log of when it has been opened. You are also supposed to be able to turn on and off the sound, but mine has no sound at all, on or off, which for me is no problem, as I would have disabled it anyway, but I deducted 1 star for those that may want this function to work. Also one note is that if you are thinking the app would be a faster way to open the safe in a pinch, it isn't, the phone most pair with the safe every time you want to use the app, which takes valuable seconds away, anywhere between 5 to 10 seconds for me at about 10 feet away and wouldn't pair at 20 feet at all.

I saw all the reviews on the other Vaultek safes but no reviews on this safe. Hands down this seems to be the best value. The VR10 does not include the fingerprint scanner which is not a feature I was interested in. The Bluetooth app works perfectly and has decent range. The key pad is very easy to program and I love the built in light inside the safe. Excellent product.

I was in the market for a small gun safe to keep my new Sig Sauer p365 and this one is perfect. I can easily fit the gun plus two additional magazines as well as a flashlight and I still have a little extra room. It was super easy to set up and unlocks very fast. I like the fact that it comes with a two manual keys incase the battery dies. There is also a little led light that comes on inside the safe that allows you to see the inside of the safe when its dark. As far as withstanding someone trying to break into it I think it would definitely keep a person out for a good long while.

This is a great safe. It does not have the biometrics scanner to open however utilizing the keypad is quick and easy even in the dark. The bluetooth connection is helpful to check on battery life and adjust the lighting within the safe however not much else use. The safe is a lot smaller there than I thought. I use this safe for my conceal cary firearm when I get home and it fits my Glock 26 and an extra magazine. the safe is pretty slim and would fit in a dresser draw. Overall I would recommend this safe just keep in mind that it is small... I have been eyeing some this companies larger safes as well.
