An Ancient Board Game from Egypt, Senet. Test your skills!
While at the Egyption Museum we came across this board game. We settled in for a few games and it fun. My 13 year old grandson became very enamored with this game. When I got home, I looked for it online and Amazon had them.We didn't know all the rules when we first started playing, kept reading the directions and when we were gone on a holiday, I brought the game and we played by the rules. A very fun game!

Pure wooden, accurate game board
When opening it, I immediately smelled the wooden material. The tile spaces and overall state of the game board is smooth, and within the drawer are the player pieces, game guide booklet, painted sticks as dice, and a die if you decide not to use the sticks. And as far as I can tell, it accurately replicates a senet board. Overall, an excellent product and sure to be appreciated by an Egypt enthusiast.

Good Gift Game
I bought this as a gift for my board-game-enthusiast sister. She says she likes it. She & I played a couple of rounds. Learning the special squares takes a little bit of extra effort. I bought it because it looked well-made and kinda classy in the ads. Once out and assembled, though, the seams show. The built quality and paint job are on the cheesy side, I'd say. Not BAD, just less than I expected. A successful gift, anyway.

A Great, Simple Game For All Ages
I bought this for my brother on his birthday, and he really loves it! We've played it several times already with different members of the family, ranging from 8 years and up. It's fun and easy to learn. It's a bit like Parcheesi, but much less aggressive and competitive, and has several interesting twists that really make it unique. I would highly recommend this game!

Beautiful wooden game
Senet is a game I grew up with! I love this game, it's different and unique looking! This makes a great gift if you want something different and special! The winner is by process of eliminating the pieces you have on the board. But game play can be interesting because the different symbols have different meanings that can slow tou down! I love the ancient Egytian world! Great Christmas gift as well, I highly recommend for game night with friends as well!

Senat game
The set is a handsome wood construction which includes both a standard D-6 for modern play and throwing sticks for the traditional way of drawing a number (dice as we know them weren't around back in the day, unless you wanted to use knuckle bones). Inspired by the art work uncovered in temples and tombs, the pieces were desined to look just like those used by the pharaohs and their queens centuries ago.Interestingly, the decor of the set, in later hieroglyphs, are not just random sketches. They actually do have a particular meaning, indicating some research on the part of the designers, which is commendable. The ancestor to traditional games like Snakes and Ladders and Trouble, Senat is an easy game to learn and each round can take a few minutes or hours, depending on the roll of the dice (or throwing sticks). A fun game while in play, it is also a handsome piece to a room's decor while at rest.
