Starlink Gen 3 Flat Mount Kit, Starlink Standard Dish Magnetic Quick Release Roof Mount Kit for RV, Vans, Boat, Overlanding

I wanted a way to mount the Starlink Gen 3 dish to the vehicle while travelling. It needed to be able to withstand highway speeds as well as off-road driving. This magnetic mount fit the bill. Once installed it fit the dish well and the magnets are super strong. I added some foam tape around the edges of the mount for a more snug fit and to keep the metal from scratching the plastic edges of the dish.

I was really excited to finally mount this on top of my vehicle. I installed the dish inside the mount and it moved around quite a bit to where all the bolts were tightened and it still fell out and I wasn’t gonna let double side a sticky tape be the only thing holding it in. It didn’t go to the edges well enough there was a half inch gap on either side with the dish installed no way for it to even touch all sides with double sided sticky tape. I really do hope they refine this amount. I did like that it was made in the USA.

I bought this to mount on my Class B RV roof rack. The quality is generally good and its nicely cut and finished. However, it is too long to properly fit the dish. When assembled it is approximately 1/2 inch too long and allows the dish to pop out of one side. It would have to be very severely modified with padding on the both long end but that would only leave about 1/4 inch of material actually holding the dish and I could never trust this would not work its way out. If this were just properly sized it would be a great product. I gave it two stars for the good build quality but cant give it any more if it does not fit as advertised.

I saw others had issues with the fitment to the dish but mine fits fine. The magnets are similar to the other mount that I am replacing and they are extremely strong. This is the type of mount needed for roof mounting on a vehicle where the antenna will encounter a wind load. While my application will not see consequential wind I still wanted a very sturdy mount so I'm sure it stays in place. I also like that this unit is setup to allow for alternate mounting systems. That flexibility is nice to have in case things change.

Works easily with Gen3 dish and allows easy to attach to roof without issue. the mags are strong and the material of the mount seems well made and should last. the design makes it work seamlessly with dish
