I searched everywhere to find a clear case for my iPhone XS Max, but every case I tried either didn't fit this new phone quite right, or the opening for the charger cord was too small for my aftermarket cables, or the case just felt horrible to hold. I had almost given up, and decided to try the Torras clear case. I'm really glad I did! Literally the very moment I put it on my phone and held it in my hand, I knew this was exactly what I had been looking for. It was like putting on your favorite old pair of jeans that fit just right!This case adds very little size to your phone (I hate huge cases)... but the protection it provides is astounding. I had the unfortunate opportunity to actually test it out when I dropped my phone after getting our of my car. It fell about 4 feet and slammed the concrete floor in our garage... and I held my breath. It really did surprise the life out of me to pick it up and see that my phone was completely undamaged! So, the company gets top marks for that.The look of the case is very sleek. Some "clear" cases I've bought are not completely clear, and they hide the beauty of this phone. But this case is brilliantly clear, and it fits perfectly — both around the phone itself, and over each cutout area. No sharp or rough edges like some other cases I've tried. This one is finished to perfection. So, top marks for that, too.And then there's one of the most important things — the grip. I hate slippery phone cases, no matter how good they look. It makes me nervous holding my phone in something that feels like it's just dying to slide out of my hand. But some other cases go to the opposite extreme. They have that weird "sticky" feel to them... can't really describe it, but it clings to your shirt pocket or pants pocket every time you slide your phone in or out. It's seriously annoying! But the Torras case finds the perfect sweet spot between those two extremes. To me, it has the exact right amount of smoothness so that it feels like a very expensive, high quality product in your hands, but it also has just the right amount of grip. So once again they get top marks for this stellar blend of materials.Finally, I also had an opportunity to interact with their customer service just over this past week. I had ordered a second one of these cases for my son's phone, and I needed to ask them a question about it. In this day and age, you don't often encounter customer service that is genuinely friendly and quick to respond. That's why I have been blown away by my conversations with their team this past week. The experience couldn't have gone any better than it did, and in fact, that's the real reason I decided to write this review... not even so much because I love this case (which I do, very much), but rather because it's so pleasantly surprising to encounter a company that goes above and beyond all your expectations, to the point that you really do owe it to them to stop for a few minutes and give them a shoutout. They've earned top marks from me in this category as well, so here's a big thanks to Lydia at Torras for going the extra mile and being such a super person! This review is based on owning the case for about 3 months. I like it very much. I do have confidence that should I drop it the phone will survive. The case if all flexible plastic. It really fits the phone like a skin. The case fits that phone perfectly, there are no gaps or seams so nothing gets in to mar the glass back. While on the case fit, I agree with several of the other reviews that it is difficult to push the power button.I was (well still am) frustrated about that so I thought I would try something. I took the case off and used a hair dryer on the section where the power button is. I held the case firm and pressed in and held the button for a few seconds then released...do that about 10 times. It will loosen the button up enough that you will find it takes less pressure to register you are pushing it and it seems to work much better for me. I would have returned it otherwise but I was really crossing my fingers because there is even more to love than the perfect fit.While you might expect a clear plastic case to be slippery this is quite the opposite. I really don't like cases because I admire the outside design of the phone! So I searched and found many had almost an "oily" quality to them, especially when wet like in a sudden rain. This one actually helps me grip the phone. This is the biggest selling feature for me and I will tell you why. Coming from the iPhone CS this phone seemed huge to me (at the time) and the last thing I wanted was to make it seem bigger in my hand with some bulky case - so I already knew I wanted a clear one if I caved and got one. I also was leaning toward a case because the stainless steel around the edges was actually slippery as you might expect from polished stainless stress and I knew I was going to drop it and I knew it would break 100% sure without some protection. Oh, and no, it is not a fingerprint magnet either!As some have noted it does have a very slight blue tint. I have the blue version of the phone so it looks great on mine and I the color is so slight I really don't see it being an issue with those. What else...oh, the cameras are totally covered with a few millimeters raised above to protect them if dropped or if simply laid down on the table. Same for the front, each of the 4 corners are slightly raised so that the face of the phone will not touch the table, this is a must to have. Also on the corners are cushioned with tiny bumpers as phones often will land with the full force on just 1 corner which can be enough to crack both screens fully. So I am not worried. This case is clear but it's got a lot of high tech design builtin and do with sophistication and allows the beauty of the phone be seen.In conclusion, I will say that in my search, this case if the closed to a minimalist clear case that is nearly perfect and with the help of a little tweak gets even closer to the mark. I owned a TORRAS clear case for my samsung galaxy s21 for 3.5 years and after numerous drops, the phone never cracked or broke anything. The case only SLIGHTLY yellowed after 3 years. Cant beat that.The clear case i prev got for my iphone was a bit bulky and had obnoxious branding on it. This one is perfect in that its very sleek and minimalistic with solid protection. And best of all, no logo's written all over and no Q logo for a magsafe device.The case feels solid, durable, but very flexible. My concern is that the sides do not raise enough from the edge, so if the phone falls flat on its front screen surface, im not sure the case is meant to fully protect in that regard, but thats not a huge concern for me given the iPhone build quality (so far) and with a screen protector on.Pros:- Clear, crisp, sleek, transparent design. No logos or obnoxious branding.- Overall snug fit- Intentionally slim, not bulky- already dropped phone a few times and all is well- neutral overall texture on the outside for standard grip. Sleek design takes priority.-micro-dot design looks good and maintains transparent clear designCons:- Camera lens lip and screen edge lip could be raised slightly more, did not realize Torras has quite a few more cases also and some others are worth checking out- Snug fit, however sides could be more snug and also raised slightly more for better protection. Sides of case are a bit loose because the plastic is soft but phone still feels protected-micro-dot design might not be as easy to clean or look good long term- smooth neutral exterior texture not as satisfying to hold as the iphones actual texture
