ALTRA Men's TOKALA Running Shoe

A year ago i bought thw womens Tokala and WORE THEM OUT! I have really bad feet. they are very wide, have high arches anf heel pain. having had plantar Fasciitis anlong time ago, i needed some shoes with over all good support but specifically good arch support and a wide toe box that i could wear around the house and easily slip off when I’m sewing. I’ve used Altra Athletic shoes for walking and running so it’s easy for me to buy these.Since I wore my first pair out i decide to go with the men’s seeing as how they looked a little bit better( in my opinion can they can go feminine or masculine ). I can say easily that they are incredibly comfortable. I can wear them all day long, no matter what I’m doing and regardless of the train, my feet don’t hurt. I have zero problems. They are tight across the top(bridge) of my foot But the fabric easily stretches out considering it’s made of canvas. I never wear socks with my shoes But if i did they would be too tight. I wear a women's 10 so i bought a mens 8.5 since. For me to feel just right. And the comfort is there without a doubt. In regular shoes I would never make it across a theme park in these I could probably walk it all day.I love the shoes I really hope Altra continues to make them if they don’t I’m gonna be heartbroken. The only thing that can make these better is a pair made of leather

I'm getting lots of compliments on the look of these shoes. The toe box is excellent. The heel is snug without pinching.That being said, the bit that goes over the top of my foot is noticeably tight. It's not enough to make it uncomfortable, but just enough that every once in awhile I think, "Man, this feels a little tight."I'm wearing this pair about twice a week, so it doesn't drive me crazy. I would definitely purchase another pair.

I'm sure if I get the half size smaller I will like them. It's doubly hard to buy these shoes online, because the sizes run different. I've always worn a 11.5, but the Altra/Vibram sneaker I got last summer was a 13 and was perfect. When I tried the 13 in Tokala it was a tad large at the heel.

Altra guy here, 10+ pairs over the last 3-4 years. These are a little tight across the top of the foot and toe box not quite as large/comfortable as my others but after wearing for a while they are getting better.

I have always loved altra shoes...this set was not as expected, day 2 of wearing them the bottom had to be glued back on one side and at the toe on one shoe so my husband could finish his shift at work

I really like Altra's running shoes and the brand's philosophy. These are just not good. They fit great the first few times I wore them, but now they feel majorly different on each foot. The left foot fit feels loose while the right feels tight.

Very narrow and tight. Not what one would expect from altra.
