I think this a great kit! I am only a beginner myself, but this comes with everything I need. The final put together picture does include the few threads and needles that I purchased prior to this kit.The few things I noticed is that a few threads seem to be very similar in color, but I think there is a wide enough range that it doesn’t bother me. I think this kit offers an equal range of each color. I noticed that other kits sometimes have a larger section of reds or greens. I do enjoy the metallic threads as well. The quality of threads seem equal to those are Jo-Ann’s. The needles are slightly more dull than the ones I got at Jo-Ann’s, but I’m not sure it would really make a difference to beginners. The scissors that are included are sharp.For what it would take to get all of this at your local store, this is an amazing value and gives a great starting point. I will be updating after my first project with it.2023 Update: still use kit! I have embroidered several baristas aprons, and the threads have held on strong. I previously mentioned the needles being dull; but it is only noticeable when working with thick fabric. Kit is 10/10.

Purchased for granddaughter to make bracelets. Reasonable price for a huge assortment of colors. Case has compartments and thread holders for all the different colors. Kit is well equipped, granddaughter was thrilled and used it all the time.

I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this thread, I used to work with original DMC thread, but it is waaaaay to expensive. Obviously there's a quality difference, but it is very very very small, specially when compared to the price difference. I heavily recommend this kit to anyone that embroiders for fun and won't have their work inspected with a magnifying glass. Numbering doesn't match the DMC one, but if you need more of a specific one you could get a clipping and look for it, numbers aren't far off. Thread doesn't bleed and the tools it comes with are quite cute, specially loved the needles!I would strongly suggest to buy a second organizer, all threads barely fit in the one that comes with the kit once assembled, and won't fit the tools unless you keep your threads loose in the box and without the divisions.As an example, the top thread in my pic is original DMC, while the one underneath is from this kit, same number, as I said it's very similar, one or two hues lighter.

My granddaughter asked me to buy this for her friendship bracelets. And the quality is great that was two years ago and she is still is using it!

Holy guacamole. This might sound crazy but I did not realize there was embroidery floss and supplies in here. I thought I was buying an empty box. I guess I was so laser-focused on getting a box to organize my existing embroidery floss that I did not realize there were also supplies in here. So this was a pleasant surprise! And now my embroidery thread supply is maybe 5X bigger now. Cool! I kinda wish the box was slightly sturdier but that's a minor thing because it functions well so far. Also note-- the embroidery floss unravels easily and this is GOOD if that's what you're looking for. I'm glad for that because I like to pull apart the individual threads to have the option of thinner, more detailed embroidery. You can still use it just fine without unraveling the threads but I know there's also more tightly-wound ropey embroidery floss that has a different look and does not unravel into thinner strings--just to keep in mind depending on what you're looking for. Really nice set. Unsure of the string quality but everything was nicely packaged. Once it was unwrapped and placed into the thread organizer, it looks extremely well made and professional. Had to stack servers of what I thought were matching colors in the same cubby. Seeing this I need to get my eyes checked. Awesome product would definitely gift to someone else~The booklet had a little bit of beginner info for bracelet making as well. Really cute set for a kid.~

This is by far the best thing I have purchased on Amazon! First of all the product came to my house in two days flat and the packaging was pretty cute too :) The string itself is such good quality and has little notches on its holder thing so the string wont unravel. Also there are multiples of the same color so you wont run out quick. I just started making friendship bracelets and embroidering and one thing I was definently worried about was tangling the tradition figure 8 string so I purchased this and I must say ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS :D The package also comes with a bunch of tools like needles fancy scissors, safety pins, ect. It definitely is worth every penny it is sold for.
