Avoid! it just loses connection constantly (1000mbps version)
Update: returning it! It lasted 10 mins and lost connection. It's more than just power hungry it just doesn't work!Original review....Using on a Google TV 4k. So far so good.Took some effort to setup, would not recognise at all finally saw some life when I put in on a bigger wattage power plug. I've got it on a 20w usb C plug now and it's connected and gives 340mbps as pictured ( I've got 1gbps Virgin broadband so doesn't seem to reach the full potential but good enough and better than the 30mbps I was getting from WiFi connection. Will see how it works over the next few days I'm concerned it may drop out as its so power hungry we will see!For reference you don't need to adjust any settings on the Google TV just turn of WiFi once it detects ethernet.

Plug & Play
Worked out the box without any issues, just plug and play. Creates a very stable ethernet connection, especially for streaming.

Does not work on original (non Max) Fire TV Stick 4K
This is working fine for me on Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2021 version), but as another reviewer mentioned, it is not recognised on the Fire TV Stick 4K (non-Max, 2018-2022 version), it will pass through USB power in both cases but the ethernet adapter is not recognised on the older 4K Stick. On the 4K Max I am getting 330Mbps on the speed test, a big improvement on the 90Mbps I achieved with Amazon's own USB ethernet 10/100Mbps adaptor. For an alternative product that works for me on both the old Fire TV Stick 4K (2018-2022) and the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2021) - and hopefully later versions that I do not have available to test - there is the Cable Matters item . That one does work with similar 300Mbps+ performance, but does take a different approach to cabling - with a long built-in Y cable which replaces your original power cable with a USB A plug back to the PSU/charger instead of containing a micro USB-B socket to accept your original micro USB power cable. That might be considered tidier for some people or unwanted extra work for others.

Shocking
SCAM DO NOT BUY! Max speed 360 mbps not the advertised 1000, and that’s on the latest 4k max firestick , if I could 0 star I would! I bought one and so did a friend and the WiFi is on both our nets is faster than having it plugged in which pathetic! WiFi twice as fast at 650 mbps

Great product
Easiest way to convert a Firestick to Ethernet connection, very easy. Just unplug the power lead to the firestick and plug into the adapter, add an Ethernet cable, then plug the adapter’s lead into the Firestick! Works great!

Too slow on Chromecast with Google TV
I bought this for use with my Chromecast with Google TV 4K. I have a Virgin Media connection of 1.1Gbps down and 110Mbps up. With this adapter connected to my CwGTV 4K I could only get 80Mbps down but was able to get the full 110Mbps up. I confirmed it is connected at 1000Mbps on the router and the link status LEDs also indicated a 1000Mbps connection. When I tested this with my Android phone I could only get 100Mbps down and 100Mbps up, this could be the faut of the phone though. However when I tested with a new Windows 11 laptop with a full speed USB C port, I get 930Mbps down and 110Mbps up. So it is not faulty, it just doesn't seem to work well with the Chromecast with Google TV which is its intended purpose.I will keep it was on special and I got it at a really good price for a RTL8153 adapter but its a pity it didn't get me more performance as I was expecting at least 400Mbps. I supposed if your Chromecast was getting less than 80Mbps over Wi-Fi you might get some benefit from this but not for me as my CwGTV gets 170Mbps over Wi-Fi.
