A must read for those with multiple chemical sensitivities
There's a large subset of people with MCS who are suffering from mycotoxin exposure and/or tick borne infections. Dr. Nathan spells out how a myriad of symptoms can be traced back to these increasingly common environmental exposures. This topic exists at the edge of medicine and the word needs to get out. A must read. The case examples again and again reminded me of patients who've I worked with myself who had been dismissed by conventional medicine practices who were not equiped to help them. Read it with an open mind. Thank you Dr. Nathan for your lifetime of hard work and compassion.

An Outstanding Book That Provides a Comprehensive, Yet Simple Roadmap to Health
Dr. Neil Nathan does an outstanding job of creating an effective, yet relatively simple "roadmap" for chronically ill patients with mold toxicity, Lyme disease, mast cell activation and other problems in this book. He sees and addresses the "big picture" with patients more effectively than nearly any other physician out there - and he does so with just a handful of strategic key tools that address so many aspects of health. His ability to address the whole person in a way that is not overly expensive, complicated or overwhelming for people is a real gift. What's more, his genuine care and concern for his patients truly shines through in his work. I always feel happy and encouraged when I read Dr. Nathan's books, and highly recommend this one, as well as his others. 😊.From Connie Strasheim, Health coach and author, co-author and ghostwriter of over 20 health and wellness books

TRUTH BOMB - You Can't Heal If You Don't Feel SAFE
As a parent and a parent coach, I cannot recommend Dr. Neil Nathan's "The Sensitive Patient's Healing Guide" highly enough. This book is an essential resource for any parent seeking answers for their unique child, especially those on the autism spectrum. Dr. Nathan's expertise, spanning over five decades, shines through every page, offering a blend of conventional and alternative medical insights that are both groundbreaking and practical.Dr. Nathan delves deep into the biochemistry and neurophysiology of sensitivity, providing a comprehensive understanding of how patients become sensitized to various environmental factors like chemicals, food, light, sound, and EMFs. The book not only explains the science behind these sensitivities but also offers effective treatment methodologies with contributions from 20 other experts in the field. This collective wisdom makes the book a treasure trove of information and strategies for parents navigating the complexities of chronic illnesses and hypersensitivities. As a parent coach and host of the Autism Parenting Secrets Podcast, I find this book particularly invaluable for parents of children with autism. Here are five key takeaways from the book that I believe will profoundly benefit any parent:1. **Integrative Medicine Offers Solutions**: Dr. Nathan emphasizes that integrative and functional medicine provide answers that conventional medicine often overlooks. This perspective is crucial for parents looking to explore all possible avenues to help their child thrive.2. **Understanding Limbic, Vagal, and Mast Cell Systems**: The book outlines the interconnectedness of these three systems and their roles in hypersensitivity. Dr. Nathan provides actionable steps to address these systems, which can lead to significant improvements in a child's health and behavior.3. **The Importance of Feeling Safe**: One of the most profound insights from Dr. Nathan is that healing cannot occur if the patient does not feel safe. This concept is vital for both children and their parents, highlighting the need for a supportive and secure environment.4. **Root Causes of Sensitivity**: Dr. Nathan discusses potential root causes of hypersensitivity, including mold toxicity and Lyme disease. Identifying and treating these underlying issues can lead to dramatic improvements in a child's health.5. **Practical Treatment Modalities**: The book offers a range of treatment options, from limbic retraining programs to vagal nerve stimulators and frequency-specific microcurrent therapy. These practical approaches are explained in detail, making it easier for parents to implement them effectively."The Sensitive Patient's Healing Guide" is not just a book; it's a beacon of hope for parents who feel overwhelmed and uncertain about their child's health journey. Dr. Nathan's compassionate and insightful approach makes this a must-have resource for anyone seeking to find answers and support their child's unique needs. As someone who has dedicated my life to helping parents navigate similar challenges, I can confidently say this book is a game-changer.

The best book on how to heal from Lyme, mold, MCAS and nervous system dysregulation since Toxic
Neil Nathan’s new book is a testament to a lifetime of acquired care and skill for treating chronic environmental illnesses such as mold and Lyme. His compassion, understanding, and willingness to dig deep and unearth the multifaceted triggers for chronic sensitivity illustrates just how many factors there are to consider during the healing process. The book shows how a great doctor like Dr. Nathan doesn’t depend on protocol-based treatment, but rather treats each patient individually based on their on issues. Sharing co-authors with some of the best in the business, such as Dr. Richard Horowitz on Lyme, Beth O’Hara (RIP to a legend gone too soon) on MCAS, Stephen Porges on the Polyvagal Theory, Bob Miller on Genetics, the list goes on and on.This book dives deep into the necessity for nervous system regulation, mast cell stabilization—factors that could influence this stabilization such as separate chapters on oxalates and salicylates—and detoxing from mold and treating colonization, and treating Lyme and co-infections, and heavy metals (as well as glyphosate, formaldehyde, the list goes on). It was with Dr. Neil Nathan’s Toxic that so many learned about these environmental illnesses and the connection between them (Lyme and mold for one). In this book, Dr. Nathan still continues to give answers and hope to so many that you can heal and that answers do exist. This book serves as an incredibly worthy successor to Toxic in every way, and marks a landmark achievement in the already illustrious career of one of the most important doctors working in chronic illness today.

Helpful Resource For Understanding Bartonella, Mold, EMF, MCAS
I read this book cover-to-cover. To date, this is the most helpful resource I have found to extend my understanding of my illness (Bartonella, Mold, EMF, MCAS), the biology/physiology/chemistry behind it, and the potential paths forward. The book can get very technical and is not an easy read - I've had to re-read several chapters to digest the content. I'm hopeful that the contributors to this book will continue to share their research.

Excellent Resource
Excellent reference guide. My daughter is highly sensitive and this book discusses so much. Lot to digest. But book is worth its weight in gold.
