Used with a Röde ntg-2 and it will not keep its position, it will just flop about all over.it's to be expected that this brand is low quality when a product can't fulfill it's purpose.

I was looking at goosenecks typically used for desk lamps. They tend to be weak. This is very sturdy, holds some weight. The threading (5/8 x 27) wasn't advantageous to my project. But, the two adapters (to 1/4" ASIN: B0995JZ52D) worked really well (need some locktite to make them more permanently tight.).

Exactly what I needed

I bough this piece to use as an extension between an Onstage TCM1500 (tablet holder) & an OnStage SKA7575 (mic attachment for X-stand keyboard). The tablet holder didn't sit high enough.The piece is sturdy and stiff and has 5/8"-27 threads on both ends (perfect as extension).
