Awesome hydroponics growing system!
Loving my hydroponics garden. I have already harvested enough lettuce for 4 large salads and it is continuing to grow. The cost was very reasonable and it is easy to manage. The plants are very healthy and the garden doesn’t require much space. It is also very sturdy. I highly recommend this. It is easy to clean the vegetables because you are not dealing with soil. I plan to purchase 2 more to grow herbs that I use daily in cooking.

Easy to use, plants grow well - bought another for my daughter, and my neighbor bought one
I'm pretty bad about watering plants, and I hate bugs. So I'd almost given up on growing herbs. But this is so easy to use, it's a pleasure. The unit is well made, easy to use, and has already paid for itself in herbs I didn't have to buy at the store (in just over 2 months). I'm growing mostly basil in mine, because I use a lot and can never find Holy basil and rarely find Thai basil at the store. I've already harvested enough to justify the cost of the unit, seeds, and the extra grow food I've purchased. After 3 month, have harvested so much I've lost track - Basil Salads, Pestos, and Thai Basil Chicken - all from one compact unit! I've also got thyme in mine, but that's a slow grower, so it's taking it's time, but doing well. The only issue is that sometimes the light timer gets confused. Mine has occasionally turned on too early and gotten off track. But it's easy to just turn it off and back on once to get it reset, and then it works again for weeks. Also, the tiny window to check for water level gets hard to read once there are roots all over the place, but that may be my problem because I've got it in a sunny window, so there's a lot of background light. I love the adjustability of the light height, so I can let my plants grow fairly tall, or keep them harvested at a shorter height.I bought a second unit for my daughter after she liked it on her visit, and she's loving hers as well. She's fairly picky about things looking nice, and she likes the unit very much, so it must appeal to younger adults as well as us old-timers.My neighbor saw it and purchased one as well (I'm a bit miffed that hers was half the price of mine for the same unit - wish I had waited for tha sale). She's growing Romaine in hers, and so far, it's going great. She's only using half of the grow slots to allow for larger plants. It's nice that there are plugs to close off the spots not being used. I have every slot in mine planted, but that makes it rather crowded.I'm hoping to purchase another unit in the future to save time and money getting herbs at the grocery store.

Great for a Busy Person!
Very easy to use! The design is simple and straight forward. My plants have been growing like crazy! They started to sprout within a few days (lettuce). I have a variety of plants, but after researching a bit more I learned tomatoes don’t grow well with others so a bit of a miss for me but that’s okay! This product works very well. I planted the ones seen in the picture 2 weeks ago and the water level has barely went down. I haven’t used the plant food given yet since it said to wait until after you refill your water. Definitely a great product for someone who is busy most times. In my free time I just admire them, check the water and make sure the light stays on as much as possible since I planted all full sun plants.

Great for apartments
I love this hydroponic grow system. I have a history of being a plant serial killer, however this system makes it easy to grow, even for black thumbs, like me. We planted a variety of seeds (marigold, dwarf sunflowers, lavender, peppermint, strawberries and cherry tomatoes) and all but the strawberries have sprouted. It is very straightforward and I am now inspired to learn more about plants and gardening and growing my own food, even though I live in a small apartment. The motor is very quiet. The grow lights are very bright so just make sure you set the timer in line with your sleep cycle.

Good product, instructions could be better
Using this product strictly for growing herbs. First photo shows my plants 6 weeks after planting, after I've already harvested some of the mint, parsley, and basil.Basil is awesome in this system, and it grows very fast. Dill, mint, and parsley also grow pretty well, just a little slower.Unfortunately, cilantro, chives, and lemongrass have been disappointing so far. Cilantro seeds just did not sprout in the sponge at all. Chives and lemongrass are slow growers so I probably need more than 1-2 plants/sponges to generate a useful harvest. For now I'm going to try growing those in the little soil starter pots instead and see if I can piggyback off the hydroponics grow light. The instructions say to soak seeds for a few hours and then germinate directly in the sponges. Well, I had much better results soaking my seeds for a few days in wet paper towels and then transplanting them to the sponges. In fact, that was the only way I could get cilantro to sprout.(Try this for cilantro: soak 2-3 seeds for one day in wet paper towels, then crack the seeds a little with a sharp knife. Continue to keep the seeds moist in the paper towels for a few days until one seed germinates. Carefully transplant that seed into the sponge. (I was able to transplant two seeds on other herbs, but not cilantro, because those seeds are huge.)Why I'm dinging a star: (1) The instructions could do a more thorough job of listing plants that grow best and worst in this system and these nutrients. (2) Don't think it works well to germinate in the system -- far better to use wet paper towels. The clear plastic covers and sponge cover stickers are superfluous IMHO. (3) No good way to keep nutrient balance right if you add water in between complete water changes in the tank. I had some leaf burn on the basil when I tried to guess how much nutrient I needed to add. Had to clean out the tank and start with fresh water/nutrient to correct that problem. In general, this is a good product. Haven't had any problems so far with the light or the pump. My quibbles are mainly with the instructions.
