Husband loves it!
I ordered this for my husband to keep in his rig with the soft shackles. He SWEARS by it. This thing is so light weight....its crazy! Small but mighty. Arrived quickly and I'm obsessed with the color. Highly recommended.

Love the color
I love the color as it will be easy to find amongst other items in my recovery bag. The machining looks good as I don't see any sharp edges that would damage the winch rope.

Soft shackles are the best.
These things are the best... totally bombproof! They replace the hard metal shackles that are sometimes hard to attach in hard-to-reach places, and these won't chip or scratch the paint.Soft shackles have been available for boating/sailing use for years, but it's only been recently that I've seen them produced for automotive use. No kidding, these are lighter and probably stronger than their metal counterparts. A pair of these along with a good two rope/strap will be very handy for getting a vehicle unstuck in mud or snow.

Easier and safer than metal d-rings
Too many people off-road with little or no recovery gear. I'm not one of them. I am one of those people who will stop and help you on the trail if I'm able.Between my wife and I we have two 4-wheel drive vehicles and we regularly use them both, though not usually at the same time. Because of that and because I don't ever like getting caught without equipment, over the years I've built some basic kits for both vehicles so we aren't constantly moving stuff back and forth between them. I've got soft shackles in both kits now. They're lightweight and easier to use than the traditional metal d-rings, and can also be used in conjunction with the metal ones. This set is as nice as any of the others I have and a great value for the $$.

Well made, great price
*** See the bottom of this review for my star rating scale explanation ***The Verdict:HIGHLY RECOMMENDThe GOOD:- Good quality material- Very smooth finish to prevent damage to ropes & shackles- Great priceThe BAD:- Nothing to noteChanges to get 5-stars:- NothingDetails:There isn't too much to say other than this is a well made part. All of the surfaces a rope or soft shackle will interface with are very smooth with broad radius curves. It is light yet durable due to being made of 7075 aluminum. The only thing I can actually say that is negative about it is that one dimension is not correct in the listing. It shows that it is 1.6" thick which is not accurate at all. I measured closer to 1.16" thick (see picture). Either way, it is a good buy and a great piece of kit to have for vehicle recovery.************************************************My Rating Scale:5 STARS - Item worked better than advertised and exceeded my expectations. The item provided more value than I anticipated and is a great deal. The item seems very well made and should last for a long time. (HIGHLY recommend)4 STARS - Item worked exactly as expected if not slightly better. Item appears to be made well. I have no major complaints, it just didn't exceed my expectations (Good value, well made, met expectations, would recommend)3 STARS - Item worked as expected without any surprises, good or bad, and did what I expected it to do (met expectations; might recommend if a good value)2 STARS - Item easily wore out or didn't work as well as described, was disappointing for the price, and/or was of poor quality (might return if expensive; would not recommend).1 STAR - Item easily broke/failed, did not match description and was not useful or did not worked as described (do not buy; return if possible; would not recommend; junk/waste of money).

Better than a snatch block
For low speed line applications, this worked better for me than a snatch block. No moving parts, quick and easy to set up, and low abuse to the winch line. Works fine if fouled with mud or grime, self cleans with line movement. The two blue lines are my own, the product shipped to me was just the ring. Clearly, this is meant for synthetic winch and tow lines, not chain or metal wire/cable. I would suggest against using ordinary rope untless it is specifically made with low stretch fibers and a stable dense braiding. With a soft shackle, it allows for a lot of different attack angles and you do not end up loading up on shackle bolts and snatch hooks. This keeps the extraction kit comparatively light.

It works!
These are such simple, but genius, little tools. They are super light and small so they are very easy to store compared to classic pulley/snatch blocks. Things to keep in mind though: these are only for soft shackles and synthetic rope, NOT FOR STEEL CABLE. Hopefully anyone buying this knows that, but just in case. When used correctly, these are great. The finish quality was good and there were no burrs or nicks that could damage your rope. The size is fine to fit the small end of any soft shackle through and the channel for the rope is adequately deep to properly retain the rope and keep tension where it should be.Packaging wasn’t anything special, but who cares? It’s a good price and a product that works. If you have rope on your winch and soft shackles then add this to your kit. If you don’t have those things then get rid of your crappy steel cable and get them, then get this while you’re at it.
