Functionality:As someone who likes to do my own nails, my least favorite part about doing gel nails is having to file and do soak offs when it is time to change my nail designs. I got suggested online to use a peel off base coat so I can change it without having to damage my nails. Why did you pick this product vs others?:Beetles is always very reliable and a good amount of my gel nail polish is Beetles brand so I knew that it should be well tested and well used. It functions as needed and I can peel it off when the time comes. In order for me to have the longest retention, I will use a nail primer + dehydrator, regular gel base coat, cure, builder gel, cure again, top coat, cure, THIS ITEM- the peel off base coat, cure, color, cure, then top coat. I get 2+ weeks of retention with this, yet I can take it off as I wish with cuticle oil/warm water+ soap and using a metal nail pusher to scrape under and the polish will come off together. If I only use this item + nail color, then it usually only lasts 7-10 days before the edges start peeling off to which I would just pick it off.

I got this after seeing it frequently mentioned in my nail community when talking about Gel-X/polygel removal. I was getting so tired of sitting for 2-3 hours soaking my nails in acetone and filing away every time I wanted to do a new nail set. Since I've had my son, I literally don’t have the time to sit around and wait for my nails to soak off in between bottle feedings and diaper changes - but I didn’t want to give up the few things that make me feel feminine (having my nails done being the most important one) and put together. Enter: Peel off bases. I hear most about the Jello Jello peel off base, but I didn't want to pay more for something I wasn’t sure would work. I’ve used Beetles products before, and this was $9, so I gave it a try.It works!!! I took my Gel-X nails off in 10 minutes with my teeth (lol don’t recommend) in a hurry, and the peel off base protected my nails from damage from the Gel-X! I won’t be going back to the acetone soaks after discovering this! Yay!

I had bought another brand of gel nail basecoat and wasn't a fan of it at all so I wasn't sure if I wanted to try another kind. Beetles gel nail basecoat DID NOT disappoint! I put this as a basecoat under my nail gel and had to remove it after 2 wks of having them on. I was SO impressed as how well it hung it there and clung to my gel polish. LOVE Beetles gel brand!

Good compromise between a high shine, reasonably durable gel manicure and preserving nail health during removal. I used this with solid gel polish and a cat eye glitter topcoat. Product literature says this should result in a manicure that lasts about 7 days, then I should be able to peel it off without nail damage. Results haven't been quite thst good, but I'll take it, as the benefit of nail damage avoidance goes a long way. One nail popped off immediately the day after application. It came off in one piece. Since it was intact, I simply put it back on with brush-on nail glue. (We'll see if that makes it hard to remove when I want to.) Two days later, two additional nails became loose at the cuticle line, and one had a minor chip. I peeled them off myself and they stayed intact. They looked like super thin, delicate press-on nails. I was able to reshape/file off the chip with a fine grit emery board. Then I glued both back on with the nail glue. It's now been 3 total days since initial application. I'm satisfied enough to keep using the product.

Definitely worked. I do my nails at home all the time. I used it for my gel x nails and they lasted two weeks. I wanted to remove them already and some weren't even budging. I was able to remove them easier than with using acetone. Just cuticle oil and pop them off. The peel off base did not damage my nails like the acetone would. And we already know using acetone to remove nails takes way longer. I also used this for when i did my nails without gel x tips. Lasted long. Im constantly changing my nails so this was perfect without doing the damage and saved so much time. Easy to use. Chip resistant. Lasted.

This brand is my favorite gel polish. Such high quality and long lasting. Leaves a great shine.
