Promax 27.2mm X 350mm FULL 3K CARBON FIBRE SEATPOST, road mtb etc

A straight replacement for the alloy seat post on a Carrera road bike. This is a full carbon post (not alloy with a carbon transfer wrap around). Head clamp is hi-impact plastic but good quality crisp moulding with ridges to allow micro adjustment of seat tilt. The clamp works via a single large allen head bolt and holds the saddle very firmly. Most importantly the post does not transfer anything like the amount of road rumble that the original did. It is lighter than the original post by 140g. The external finish is shiny carbon weave and there is a red and white logo and "Promax carbon" prominent on the front and side of the post. Small dots visible through the rear split at the top of the down tube allow you to note the height adjustment. Quick delivery and well wrapped in bubble wrap and padded envelope. A very practical and inexpensive upgrade for an aluminium alloy frame road cycle which will make long rides a whole lot more comfortable. This is a very much higher quality product than I was expecting for the price. Recommended.

I have to agree with the other reviewers in this case. I can honestly say that I now feel more in tune with my bike (Sirrus Elite full carbon) rather than riding along on top of it. It is especially noticeable when riding over cattle grids! We have a lot of them where I ride in the New Forest and even have an annual event which celebrates them (The grid iron). With an alloy seat post, the vibration goes through your whole body but after fitting this carbon fibre seat post, the dampening effect is simply amazing. Highly recommended but don't forget to use carbon gripper assembly paste and don't over tighten the seat clamp which could damage your seat post.

Strangely effective! Have had this fitted to my Dolan etape for a week now. What I have noticed is that you can still feel the lumps and bumps of the road but the carbon seat post just takes the edge off everything. Smoothed the hard ‘peaks’ of rough road. Great buy and value when you consider carbon seat post can retail for hundreds of pounds!!

Great value for money. I saw one review that "high-impact plastic" was used in it - rest assured all the fittings are metal: cold to the touch unlike plastic and carbon fibre...
