**Exactly what I needed!**
A few months ago, I set out to upgrade my car’s infotainment system because Android Auto wasn’t displaying in full screen. My car has a widescreen infotainment system with impressive sound and display quality, but the wired Android Auto didn’t fully utilize the widescreen space. After reading multiple articles online, I learned that a firmware update might resolve the issue. I purchased an update from the Hyundai India map website for ₹1500, but unfortunately, it didn’t fix the problem. Replacing the entire infotainment system crossed my mind, but given the widescreen format, options were limited, and I didn’t want to compromise the interior aesthetics. I needed a solution that would allow Android Auto to run on the same display without excessive mechanical work. Then, RANDOMLY OUT OF NOWHERE*, I saw a suggestion for this device and decided to purchase it immediately after a quick research. My Experience:1. Android Auto still doesn’t utilize the full screen, but switching to Apple CarPlay resolves this issue. The device supports switching between Android Auto and CarPlay with the infotainment, allowing seamless connectivity with either type of mobile device on both.2. Wireless connectivity works flawlessly—my phone now connects wirelessly to the infotainment system through this device. It takes a few seconds to boot and display the auto screen, but the delay is ignorable.3. The default launcher is disappointing with no widget options, but this can easily be fixed by installing a third-party launcher from the Play Store.4. The device heats up significantly during use, as it lacks an active cooling solution. Some sort of cooling mechanism would have been a valuable addition. Its been 1 week now but, not sure how long it will run like this.5. Apps occasionally experience slowdowns, but they remain functional. Lightweight apps perform smoothly without issues.6. Certain touch gestures, such as pinch-to-zoom on maps, do not work properly within Android Auto.7. Mute/pause controls via the steering wheel are not responsive, which is a slight inconvenience.I wasn’t particularly interested in Carlink as a brand, but this device turned out to be an excellent product. If you have only wired CarPlay or Android Auto and want a wireless experience—or if you were considering upgrading to an Android-based infotainment system—you can confidently go for this. However, if you plan on running resource-intensive apps, opting for a higher-powered device would be a better choice.
