This butter dish stops butter from being a puddle in the summer for a few hours if it's kept in the fridge overnight. In the autumn it doesn't become soft if left out all the time.You just have to remember to take it out of the fridge for a few hours in the summer before it's needed otherwise it's a hard block.Easy to clean and solid build. Not everyone will like the S/S finish it's pretty industrial.

We've been together for almost forty years, starting as teenaged lovers and now staring sixty in the face. In all that time, we'd never previously experienced the sheer joy that a butter dish can bring. It seemed that there were always other ways to spend money; mortgages, school uniforms, wellington boots. The list never ended. Butter dishes were never something we could afford to indulge in.As a result we made do with margarine and abominations advertised as "spreadable". Over the years, our existence became comfortable but humdrum. Our marriage was in a rut. Little did we realise that the fires of passion could be ignited once more.Then one day, while innocently browsing through Amazon to pass another endless day in lockdown, I came across this butter dish. I was seduced by its good looks, the sleekness of the polished steel, those curves, that cheeky knob, the solid, trustworthy, yet beguiling design. And the prospect of oozy, glorious, golden delights secreted within. My matronly heart was set aflutter, and with trembling finger, I pressed the button to "buy now".Surely enough, the following day, my butter dish arrived in a plain brown wrapping. I called my husband away from his trainset, and together - with some trepidation - we opened the parcel. It's fair to say, we've never looked back. Breakfast in bed has taken on a whole new dimension, beyond even the torrid days of our youth. Let's just say, our married life is entering a whole new stage of bliss, as together we revel in the delights of soft butter.I highly recommend this item.

This is certainly not the cheapest butter dish so did not expect to have to drill our own hole to attach the ball on the lid!!!

Ah, this arrived today. I am pleased with the quality and look. However, as the package rattled, I suspected all was not right. Sure enough, the base was secured and wrapped appropriately as per, whereby I had to unveil it thereof with a knife. The top lid, however, was rattling about freely with no wrapping whatsoever. Odd. It soon became apparent why, as it was marked and dented and was most likely chucked in willy nilly from a previous return. Oh dear. I won't return it because I have a busy kitchen in which it will become thus soon enough, but If you seek finery then come on suppliers.. sending previously opened and non quality controlled stock? It's a great piece at the price so uphold your standards.

Smart looking and effective, has allowed us to use proper butter rather than spreads. You do just need to remember to get it out of the fridge in good time if you want to keep the butter covered until ready for use but once it has warmed up a bit it can stay out for 5 or 6 hours without the butter getting runny. When it's time to clean it we just wipe off all excess butter remains with a piece of kitchen roll and pop it in the dishwasher from which it emerges with its satin steel finish looking good.

Far better than expected and has a quality appearance and feel. There was a mark on the bottom tray but a quick wash removed it. Most importantly it keeps butter at a spreadable temperature, as it should do. The stainless steel makes it easy to keep clean. I like this product and think it's a good design and practical, the brushed top finish looks good and is a real winner. The weight of the top has also kept my cats nose out of the butter, as it cannot flip it over like a plastic one!

When I opened the box I was impressed by the weight and quality of this butter dish, there were no dents or marks on it as others have reported on theirs, the finish was excellent, a 250g block of butter fits perfectly in it, it keeps my butter at the perfect temperature for spreading no matter what the ambient temperatures are in the kitchen, I have used it continuously since I bought it, no rust spots or any other marks have appeared on it yet, looking at it I don't expect any either, being as it is so substantially made and finished, it should give me many years of service, there are nooks or cranny's on it so it is easy to clean out after use.Rather more expensive than I thought it would be for a butter dish, but well worth it, you get what you pay for in this instance, and it looks good too.Highly recommended.

Great quality product keeps butter at exactly the right spreading temperature. It is a little on the weighty side but this is more than compensated for by the ease of content use.
