3 stars, maybe 4... now 5 stars.
I struggled between 3 or 4 stars on this. But to be honest, for $70 it is not to bad. There are some short comings for this but what do you expect for this price. The item does feel a little cheap but that did not bother me to much. On the hand held mic you do have to hold it directly towards your mouth for it to pick up your voice. If you hold the mic straight up and talk to the side you pretty much get no sound. When you do it directly from the top the sound is pretty good. Just makes it so you have to pay attention to the orientation. This unit I also got the headset and lapel mike. It sounds pretty good as well. The one significant problem is once you attach the mic to the pack it is almost impossible to remove it. The little button you press to release the mic connector from the belt pack doesn't seem to work very well and you can't hardly remove it. I finally got it disconnected but felt like I was going to break it. Hope this will last. Maybe I recieved a belt pack that has a sticky bad connector. All in all it does work and it works well for $70.Update.. discussed the issues with the manufacturer. They responded in one day and sent a replacement. Definitely a company that cares about service and getting you what you need. Would definitely buy from them again. Again not very expensive and works like a charm.

Excellent Product! Simple but High Quality Voice!
Phenyx Pro - Plug it in - and it works immediately! Total Simplicity!! Great Sound!!!Its designed for simplicity but it has 2 systems in 1.Its a great wireless microphone. It replaced 2 SHURE systems, because its 2 systems in 1.This system works now for about 45 days of daily use. Without a problem. Daily use! The battery life for the 2AA batteries has been longer so we are happy about that.Never had any problems with it. the manufacturer responds promptlyNow about the previous system that it replaced:I ordered this as a replacement for a SHURE system that costs 1000% more (10x more!!!!) The Shure BLX14 system that costs almost $1000.00 for 2 systems and comes with NO support, and they are very rude at SHURE. Since Mrs. Shure died their support has been going downhill while their prices have been going up. Dont believe their hype all their systems are made in the Philippines and China anyway so there is little or no quality assurance. So a few months ago i purchased a SHURE system on AMAZON and it already is broken and the manufacturer is not responding and they want you to go to their dealers for support. They dont even answer calls. I ended up writing to their CEO who never bothered to respond. So yes I am replacing all the previous SHURE systems with this system. I highly recommend.

Works well!
First use. Did a standard a/v job, connected to a Mackie board and C302 Mackie's. Worked as expected.

Great microphone for the budget minded.
This is a great little wireless set for the price point. We purchased it for a small church that had a very tight budget, were very happy with the results. These are light weight plastic units as mentioned in other reviews, so we were expecting that, but the quality of the radios inside were still Phenyx Pro quality. They give a nice clear sound. The batteries last for several services which also helps the budget. The pastor uses the lavalier mic every Sunday, and the hand held is used every service as you'd expect in a traditional church setting. The one caveat I would be sure to mention; both mics use the same output. It's one thing you should be aware of before making a purchase. But in this setting, it really has not been a problem for this church at all.I also recommended a friend buy this same set for use for his upwards basketball. He wanted a system that he used for his announcements and a sermonette at halftime (I think) but wouldn't blow his budget. He purchased this same system and was pleased with how it worked for them as well. For budget conscious people, this is a great solution for wireless microphones.

Simple, Cost Effective, Amateur Equipment
I was sent the PTV-1B to test. I was able to literally take it out of the box and put it to use. I used the included 1/4 in cable to test. I heard some static, but I was holding the handheld mic close to the receiver. It is two channels fixed frequency VHF. The headset microphone and lapel mics seem to be omnidirectional and very sensitive. You may get feedback if you're too close to a speaker. They may also clip if the input is too loud. I didn't notice any issues with sound quality. I recommend the PTV-1B if you need something simple and cost effective. I would not recommend for anyone who has used or is used to professional grade equipment. Good for karaoke, beginners, small family gatherings, presentations, or anything that you would rather not use expensive gear for. Minimal knowledge of microphones and speakers required. The entire system is lightweight.Pros: simple use, plug and play, handheld and body pack included, headset and lapel mics, cost effectiveCons: no mention of polar patterns, plastic components, fixed frequency
