This works pretty well - it's the only rain diverter I could find with a built-in leaf blocker. But it's even better with a few upgrades:1) The hardware to close off the unused exit is large and ugly. Instead, I bought a pack of these plugs to close it off: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08ZCJPSK62) The leaf blocker only blocks large items like leaves, but lets smaller particles through. I bought these hairnets (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09VK3Q5NL), cut a golfball-sized hole in the middle, and cut four small holes for the posts. They block a lot more debris and are still self-cleaning (any objects that land on them still get washed down into the gutter).3) The inner part with the leaf filter doesn't always make a tight seal with the lower part, so water doesn't build up high enough in the outer channel to flow into the pipe. I placed a rubber band around the middle stub of the lower part to serve as a gasket, then added the inner part back in.

I bought one of these rain diverters and it was quite handy. I kept several rain barrels filled over the summer. In fact this rain diverter would fill my water containers so fast that I could not leave it unattended or they would overflow quickly. The diverter came with easy to follow assembly instructions and it is built of pretty sturdy material. I particularly like that it was designed with nozzle ports on either side of it. I packed it away for the winter, but I'm looking forward to using it next season.

We have this hooked up to a 55gal olive barrel with a PVC swivel connector and a washing machine hose. The barrel fills up pretty quickly with light or moderate rain, but there's an issue with heavy rain. With heavy rain debris or loose granules on the roof wash into the cup and block the hose. When that happens hardly any water makes it to the barrel, and the debris has to be cleared manually.

This water diverter has a very solid field to it. Good construction, heavy duty plastic that seems like it will withstand the test the time. But it has no instructions.The only instructions you can find are from Amazon’s pictures. But the only real info you need is the amount of gutter downpipe to cut. 8.46 inch

Item looks good but was sent without the hose adapter that goes at the end of the spigot. Amazon does not give an option to request missing part, only lets me return for a refund or replacement.

Given that this only allows partial flow of water in the downspout to flow into the rain barrel through a 5/8" or 3/4" hose, it is surprisingly effective! So far it has refilled my 55 gallon rain barrel during every rain storm. It's so effective that I hooked up a 2nd barrel to the first barrel, and it filled both of those up! I will admit that it could have included some instructions, though.

Have had this about a month now. Works fantastically well. Nice thing is being able to switch it off/on from my deck with the smooth turnkey mechanism depending on storage availability.

Purchased to install on a rain barrel. Extremely well built and easy to install. Good quality rubber gaskets ensured there are no leaks.

Installation was easy and the unit is solid. I can’t believe how much water it actually diverts! We had light rain overnight and my rain barrel was overflowing the next morning!
