I like it
I bought a Samsung brand new and it didn't work so I thought I'd try something different and I love this phone it is much faster than my Samsung it's a second line and I use it to run my Eld in my truck set up was a breeze I'm on the Pure Talk Network I installed the SIM the phone recognized the Sim and set the phone up for me I did not have to call customer service at Pure Talk to have them activate the phone or the SIM it just worked imagine that I charge the phone up fully i use the phone to run theeld in my truck it connected to my truck perfectly when the ELD is connected the screen never turns off ever at the end of my day I still had 40% battery life left and that was on the first charge my Samsung never lasted that long and I know when the ELD is connected to the phone the charger is supposed to be connected to the phone but I wanted to see how long the battery would last I like the fact that the back cover comes off and you can change the battery because having a charger constantly connected to the phone is very hard on the battery on my last phone the battery swelled up and pushed the front screen out of its frame so being able to change the battery is a plus for me I bought a nice protective case for it and a screen protector and hopefully it'll last a while we'll see.

breaking the shackles of phone battery replacement
My old iPhone 6s, which was stolen on the way to Apple in THEIR provided box, merely for a battery replacement (latter lasted 3.5 years, wow), possibly by some rogue Fedex employee, wth knows, was still a good phone for something released in 2015, but maybe I should thank the thief, because for a $100-ish, though it's no surprise given 8 year diff that this phone outperforms the 6s, here's the thing, THE BATTERY CAN EASILY BE POPPED IN AND OUT BY YOU. And this battery is a lot cheaper than the TCO for any phone that needs servicing for battery replacement.. especially if that phone is lost or stolen in the process. This must be why the EU is looking at legislation to make user-replaceable batteries the norm for phones. Anyway, if you need the current $$$tate of the art phone with an ultra-res low light camera, and can afford it, you're not even reading this. Otherwise, this phone checks off well the essentials.UPDATE: TCL is TERRIBLE in terms of documentation, even on their web site. Discontinued model? Forget finding anything about it on their site. In my case I wanted to find out what other batteries would be compatible with the one that came with the phone (TLi028D7) the latter which cannot be found on the internet from a seller with good buyer protection (such as Amazon), and for which it would help if one could at least find the dimensions first and foremost (has to physically fit, right?). BTW that battery isn't quite dying yet, but I just wanted to buy a spare to have on hand, and I found the situation as described. The TLi028C7 MIGHT FIT, PROBABLY DOES, SHOULD, but I can't get a handle on the dimensions, certainly not from TCL. As with so many Chinese companies, documentation may have to be forgone with the help of crowd-sourcing, Q&A sections as here etc, because these companies often, for some reasons one can speculate on, don't bother themselves with basic customer support. Good luck.

Terrible phone.
Bare bones basic. No audio recorder. No camera timer count down feature to get a good selfie, have to hold phone only. (Aggravating). Utterly primitive compared to all my previous LG phones in terms of features and user friendly setup. Everything is based around Google apps and features of phone are all Google. Google has proven to be intrusive with your data and privacy, luckily alot of Google features can be disabled, but not all. Features are frustrating and or ultra basic. The only reason I bought it was because of its small size as I can't stand having a 7-8 inch long 2 pound weight in my pocket. But the phone is trash compared to LG, which is no longer made. Sometimes it will shut itself off, alot of weird glitches. The worst cell phone I've ever had since they were invented.

Initial use and features provided a great experience for a cell phone in this price range!
ProBanking apps - noticeably improved user experience with Android 132-step authentication by text has a great feature new to me:When you go to message app to retrieve the code, it offers a "copy feature" automatically. Click on it then go back to the banking app and presto, the code has been entered!!Nano SIM card recognized the carrier info quickly (T-mobile)Transfer of information from old ZTE Android 10 phone went well!(Luckily, I had a C to C cable for the data transfer).Cons: notification dot doesn't work wellThe charger plugged into a wall outlet did heat up a little more than my previous cell phone as well as the back of the phone in it's new case (Ailiber brand) while laying flat on a solid surface. I used the new case to elevate it which took care of the phone backside heating up.Conclusion:Initial use and features provided a great experience for a phone in this price range!

Can't recommend it highly enough.
It's not an iPhone - which is just fine with me. It's a basic Android phone, but TRULY it's one of the better ones - at a great price. Apps all run snappy - not much bloatware upon arrival, nice bright display, 50mp camera takes great pics, and a very pleasant surprise - a built in app carried ALL my data and programs from my ancient Samsung phone without a cable.I noticed some reviews saying that the speakerphone was quiet. I guess if you're working in a noisy warehouse... but for me, the volume is great. This is the first time I've taken a chance and bought a phone that wasn't a Samsung or a Motorola. I am very pleasantly surprised, and I think you will be too. Go for it!Nice job, TCL. You have a new fan.
