Does the job as long as floor is level
If you have a door where the level drops in the direction of the door opening, then you cannot use this as there is no adhesive. To be clearer, say the door opens into a room where the floor drops by a few mm, then the strip will fall to the floor and you will not be able close the door since the strip is in the way now. I think using double sided adhesive tape should fix this.
