Your delicates made simple- Fantastic
This book is so beautifully presented and it's instructions for construction are easy to follow. The fact that each piece that is listed within the book has its own graded pattern included with instructions on how to lay it onto the fabric before cutting is great. What makes it even better is that you don't have to be a size 8 to make your own as they include sizes 8-18 along with actual cup sizes so you can cut your own size out and start sewing straight away. I love the way that the authors talk you through fabrications and sewing techniques. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to branch into learning how to make their own undies.

Beautiful and Practical!
The most beautiful book I have bought this year! Full of gorgeous photos and a variety of lingerie projects. Everything is explained in enough detail to allow a novice sewer like me to learn how to make lingerie and the patterns are in an envelope at the back. It's both a coffee table book and a sewing manual. Love it!

Fabulous book
I love this book and can't wait to start make some of the beautiful lingerie. I sincerely hope that the next book from these talented ladies will be instructions for making 'proper'underwired bras. Unfortunately we can't all wear flimsy triangles held together with lace. I wish!!I will update my review when I have completed my first project.

Demystifying Lingerie Sewing
This is a fantastic book ,I've already made two items from it . I am an experienced sewer and find this book really simple to follow but I think a less experienced sewer would have no trouble with the projects in this book too as it explains many sewing techniques. Its brilliant because you don't need a fancy sewing machine to do the projects either. The layout of the book is great and it comes with a fab selection of patterns : a few different bra's , panties ,suspenders and more . I would definitely recommend this book.

A lot of gaps and adjustments required
I really did want to like this book. In many ways I do, it is beautifully written, with gorgeous photographs and some lovely pieces to make. If I were a standard size with a B cup, then I think I would get much more use out of it. However, as it is I'm going to have to do some serious adjustments to be able to make or wear any of the items.Positives - it is beautifully written, lots of information, lots of techniques, lots of drawings and photographs. You get huge numbers of patterns (two thongs, two minis, one french knicker, six 'sets' with a mix of bras and camisoles, and varied bottoms, plus three suspenders, an eye mask and a bag) and the printed sheets are easy to trace your size from. The names are very sweet and the fabric choices lovely.Negatives - my bottom half should be a size 8 from their measurements, but a toile was nowhere near the right size. If you are anything other than a B cup you will need to make significant adjustments to the camisoles, and the bras are very limited in size (32A-D, 34A-D, 36A-C) and would not be supportive enough for a larger cup (I question even whether they'd be supportive enough for a D cup). It's also very confusing to follow the patterns. They use a lot of abbreviations, which are listed at the beginning of the book, and a lot of techniques, which are listed at the end, plus different seam allowances, which are written on the pattern sheet. Hence you are constantly flipping back and forth between different sections of the book and the pattern sheet/traced pieces. I do not understand why some of the abbreviations couldn't have been written in full and the seam allowances included in the instructions. In addition, some of the 'special techniques' are only used for one item, why not have them with that item? There are also missing instructions, for example with the silk camisole/french knicker set, they describe a hemming technique (which doesn't look like the one they have used in the picture!) for the camisole, and omit the addition of a hem to the knickers. You can assume that you are supposed to hem them in the same way as the camisole, but the instructions aren't clear.Overall I like this book, I am glad I bought it, and it will be a beautiful addition to my sewing books. However, I believe every pattern will need adjusting for the majority of readers, and the section on this is quite short and assumes quite a lot of knowledge, without any suggestion of a place to go for further advice (and there are lots of good books out there). As a book for the experienced seamstress, who can fill in the gaps that are left and make adjustments to patterns, I think it is fine. However, if the idea was to de-mystify lingerie construction, the confusing layout, constant flipping back and forth and missing lines of instructions mean it doesn't really work. Such a shame, I really wanted it to.I will use the techniques described, and once I have the pattern pieces adjusted to my measurements then I think I will probably sew a lot of the garments, but personally I would suggest you should buy it only if you are a standard size and a B cup, or an experienced seamstress.
