This will ensure a smooth and even surface for the fabric to lay on.Cut the fabric to size: Cut the Land Guard weed barrier fabric to the desired size before laying it down. This will make it easier to handle and prevent excess fabric from bunching up.Secure the fabric: Once the fabric is in place, secure it with landscaping staples or garden pins to prevent it from shifting or moving in the wind. Make sure to space the staples or pins evenly to keep the fabric taut.Overlap the edges: When laying down multiple strips of fabric, overlap the edges by at least 6 inches to prevent weeds from growing through the gaps.Plant through the fabric: Use a sharp utility knife to cut small X-shaped slits in the fabric where you want to plant. This will allow the plants to grow through while still providing weed control.Mulch on top: Cover the fabric with a layer of mulch to further suppress weed growth and help the soil retain moisture.Use with companion planting: Consider using the weed barrier fabric in conjunction with companion planting techniques. Planting certain species of plants together can help to naturally suppress weed growth.Check for gaps: Regularly inspect the fabric for gaps or tears and patch them up as soon as possible to prevent weeds from growing through.Remove any debris: Remove any leaves, branches, or other debris that may accumulate on top of the fabric to prevent it from breaking down prematurely.Use a weed trimmer: Use a weed trimmer around the edges of the fabric to keep the area looking neat and tidy. Just be sure not to cut into the fabric itself.

I would recommend this product to everyone! It’s strong enough and durable. We have planted 72 tomatoes, and a lot of other veggies and no weeds.

Works well
Bought this to control weeds in my garden patch. As noted by others the sides do unravel. We pinned it down along all sides and centers but the first gust of wind and it was airborne. So we then took an ice chopper tool and tried again by pushing the sides into the ground and back packing dirt then pinning . It hasn't moved since, wish the sides were better made. But it did prevent the weeds from growing under it and pumpkin patch is flourishing.

not high density as advertised
This is a plastic material and the weaving is so poor that it frays easily. There were some areas where there were open spaces between the weaves that were not usable. When you pin the "fabric" it tears easily. Don't waste your money if you want something to last a season.
