Best noise reduction I've tried yet
We had tickets to a Nascar race in September. Since I have Meniere's disease and am almost completely deaf in one ear, I am careful being around very loud noises. I bought these earmuffs and they were fantastic. I had zero problems at the race with the racing car noises bothering me or hurting my ears.

Good tool to have on hand
I received these some months back and today I'm really glad to have them. Landscapers have been doing tree work with chainsaws and grinders all day right outside my home, and these take the edge off the noise. Like others have said, they don't block it out, but they do reduce it enough so that I can function on a day like today. And they're pretty comfortable.

performance
I bought these hoping they would fit and block out my upstairs neighbors life noises such as walking, drawers closing, etc. these didn't met either criteria. I am a small, petite female and there were large gaps on the headbands even at the smallest setting and they kept slipping cause they didn't fit. additionally they didn't block out or even reduce any of the dreaded noise. for someone with a larger head, or possibly less noise sensitive, they may work

Protect your ears without looking like you are protecting your ears
I was late diagnosed as autistic last year and since then I have looked for ways to help me deal with the very loud and distracting world around me. I’ve used ear plugs but I really don’t like how they feel in my ears. I had another pair of headphone-style ear defenders, but they didn’t really do the job and the headband made it look like I had a post-surgery headgear on — not the look I am going for. I have long been envious of Alpine’s Muffy ear protection for kids. They look like headphones and are smaller but still provide excellent ear protection. When I saw that Alpine sells these I hit Buy Now without even thinking. I have been using them for months now and I can honestly say these are my favorite, go-to ear defenders. I still carry my ear plugs just in case or for short-term use like in class, but these look and feel so good that I generally just have them with me anyway, so I pull them out. They fold up and can go in my backpack or my shoulder pack. They expand a good deal. I have a medium to large head, and they fit me fine at the smallest setting, though if I wear sunglasses then I do expand them a bit. With sunglasses on they do not hurt. I do find that if I am wearing sunglasses and I turn my head left or right I can hear more sound, but it’s not enough to cause alarm. I just have really sensitive hearing so I notice it. If I am not wearing sunglasses then this isn’t a problem. I can understand speech pretty well with them on, and especially if I am looking in the direction of the speaker. I will be taking them on a Disneyland trip this summer and I fully expect to be able to enjoy all the fun without any of the auditory sensory issues that I had last time.

These are my second purchase !
These are great for my sound sensitive pre-teen. This is the second pair I bought just to have an extra because sometimes I forget them somewhere. He wears them to school or in the car and they look very age appropriate like any kid does listening to music but he uses it to drown out noises. I found these because I saw another mom with a son that was wearing some on the Disneyland bus back to the hotel and I stopped her to ask her if she liked them and where she got them since they look way more low profile than all the other ones on the market. She highly recommended them and I’m so glad we have them! I also love them because these are the first pair of noise cancelling headphones he has been ever been able to tolerate, ever! The more common ones I’ve ordered or he has tried at schools and therapies just have too much pressure on his head. I’ve tried SO MANY different kinds, sizes and styles and these are THE ONLY ones he has ever tolerated. He wears them so often too. These have been a huge help and I’m so grateful I found them!

Great for sensory issues and ADHD
I'm an adult with autism and ADHD, and use I these at my factory job. They work really well to muffle the noises of all the machines, conveyors, maintenence work, etc. I can actually hear my coworkers a bit easier though, which is nice. They also have proved useful in public, like in stores, crowded/loud places, gatherings with too many people talking, etc. I've been more productive and a lot less overwhelmed overall, and I can focus on things easier.I greatly prefer these over earplugs, or having to listen to music/a podcast/whatever with headphones/earbuds and just trying to drown out sound with more sound, and distracting myself in the process. They are also relatively comfortable and so far I prefer the feel of them out of anything I've used. It can be hard to keep a good seal around my ears sometimes though, like when turning my head or wearing a hat, so it takes a bit to get used to that sensation + momentary slight noise level change. It's not too bad though and the headphones may just be a bit too big on me.I only gave them 4 stars because I don't usually give things 5 unless I've used them for a lonnggg time, but so far I haven't had many issues, and they've even held up to my clumsy self dropping them on concrete. I would recommend these to other people with sensory problems, and I'd buy them again if I somehow broke or lost my current pair.
