ExOfficio Men's Sol Cool Performance Hoody

Amazing. I didn't take a close look at how this would have fit or what's the deal with the hood. So when it arrived, I was worried that the hood would get in the way or look stupid. Not so! The first time I decided to wear this out on a hike, it happened to be a day where the temperature was over 100 F. First, it didn't feel warm at all with it on despite the heat, sweat dried quickly and didn't cling to the fabric.Second, because of the thumb holes in the sleeves, it kept my hands covered for the 4 hours I was out in the blazing sun, and the hood kept sunburns on my back and face when I forgot my sunblock. Convenient!Anyway, worked well for me, kept me cool in a hot day. I like it.

Works great as a sun layer for day trips, hikes and travel. Snug fitting hood with plenty of front facial coverage when fully zipped up. Thumb loops to maximize sun coverage on the back of the hand. Small zipper pocket along the seam under the arm almost at the bottom hem, sized for small wallet or keys. Keeps me protected in the sun to minimize the amount of chemicals applied for sun protection. Very quick drying and breathable, keeps me cooler and more comfortable on sunny days than a cotton T-shirt. Only drawback is that it is slightly heavy for a base layer with all these features, just a consideration for those who pack more than one base layer on long backpacking trips.

Perfect for hiking in hot weather. It seems counter-intuitive to wear long sleeves, but it's so much cooler than having the sun hit you constantly. I only have two issues with it. 1. I wish it had pockets. It really needs pockets. 2. I've worn it just a handful of times and the zipper broke already. I contacted ExOfficio to see if they'd fix it. Waiting to hear back.

I love this hoody! It has a really nice athletic fit and is the perfect fit and length for my somewhat lanky 6'4" frame.I use this for cool morning hikes. The thumb loops and the scuba fitted hood keeps you just warm enough even on chilly starts. Then as you heat up the hood fully unzips and the sleeves can be pulled up. Super comfortable and breathable even as you're warming up.I also use it for rock climbing and doubles as good sun protection!

It’s kinda weird and I sorta wish the thumb holes were double stitched around the edges. I have t worn it outside yet. Not 100% sure on the hoodie and they way it zips up. It’s just a different design that I’m not used to.

Not a huge fan of the face covering hood but still a great sun shirt. The cooling thing is just marketing, no additional cooling over any other similar material shirt that you could feel.

very comfortable. I typically wear it over a shirt. The cooling sensation is nice.

These shirts are great for preventing sun burns and helping keep cool in the heat. This is my second one.

Fits nicely, blocks sun when you are hiking on snow or spending time on the water.
