Prog masterpiece
This is Ambrosia's prog masterpiece. A gloriously indulgent collection of songs, beautifully produced by Alan Parsons and containing what surely must be one of the most over-the-top tracks of all time. Very highly recommended!

Recorded 1976 and as lively and fresh as it ever was
The odds are that you're looking at this CD because you already know about Ambrosia's music. Like all good music, "Somewhere I['ve never travelled" can't really be classified - part orchestral - part choral - part country - part strange - part experimental - but always, ALWAYS really enjoyable. The CD title is apt. I don't know if it was meant to sum up their expedition into musical invention, but that's what you get on this CD. Heaven alone knows what their influences were - everything from Mozart to Queen with just about every other style and genre inbetween! In my experience, very few groups maintain credibility or get away with assaulting the ears with a montage of sound effrects ('The Brunt') followed by an efortless slide into a song that seems to be a blend of wistful yearning and acoustic guitars. But somewhow they do it - again and again. Ideas are never repeated so it's a pure joy to listen to them trying anything and everything AND SUCCEEDING. (How rare is that??)There is no way to adequately describe their music, but if you enjoy being challenged and excited by music that just doesn't seem to date, then give this CD a listen. I've worn out my original vinyl and am now slowly eroding my CD.Highly recommended for the musically open-minded.
