Time was, not so long ago, when peanut butter consisted of ground up peanuts, a pinch of salt and nothing else. And life was good. Back in those heady days I began noticing an occasional jar labelled "American Style" peanut butter, which to my bemusement also contained sugar!! People do say that whatever happens in America eventually happens here too, and what do you know - along with obesity, crack cocaine and cruise missiles the adulterated super-sweet travesty that was American Style peanut butter has become simply "peanut butter" Practically everything is jacked up with unnecessary sugar that kills the taste and gives us more diabetes. So I heartily applaud Meridian for standing firm and making peanut butter naturally and how it should be - no hydrogenated oil, imulsifiers, chemicals or sweeteners, just whole ground organic peanuts. Hoorah!Even better, the nuts used here were left with their brown skins on which gives us even more taste, fibre and nutrient content. This spread has a really good deeply nutty, earthy taste that goes wonderfully on toast, mixed into dips, used in cooking and more besides. Spread onto warm freshly baked bread is my idea of heaven. Just remember to give your tub a deep stir every time to mix the natural oil back in - as I say, there are no added emulsifiers. To my mind the taste beats anything else available which is why I subscribe and purchase a regular supply here (I also enjoy the extra 15% discount from doing so!) Mine comes double sealed inside clingfilm and a bag and has never leaked.As well as tasting great, peanut butter is good for you, and here's why: It's a good source of protein (pretty much 30%) plus the fats are mostly healthy mono and polyunsaturates. The high vitamin B12 and B2 content is beneficial to your skin. Vitamin B2 supplements are often used to get rid of skin problems like pustules, skin rash and rosacea and B2 is beneficial in promoting healthy hair growth. The calcium and magnesium content is excellent for promoting healthy bone growth too. Recently reported meta-research has indicated that far from being a risk to infants, early inclusion of PB into their diet helps to normalise reaction to nuts and so reduces the development of nut allergies by a notable factor. Please do your own research on that and speak to your doctor before implementing this information though.So in summary this is delicious and tasty peanut butter that's high quality, cheaper in this tub size than most adulterated rubbish, and it's good for you too! If you prefer, Meridian make a crunchy version, but I prefer this for better nutrient absorption which is also ideal for body builders and athletes. This is the best peanut butter I've ever eaten! I have IBD & can only eat organic peanut butter which has been a godsend as I'm very restricted in what I can actually eat. Ordinary peanut butter not only upsets me but I also find it far too sweet. The taste of this, however, for me is addictively delicous & I also love the fact that the oil is natural peanut oil. It states quite clearly on the tub that the oil rises to the top & all you need to do is blend it in with the peanut butter. This information is also on Amazon's description of this product so it will only come as a surprise if the info hasn't been read. However anyone who is after the real thing without any additives, sugar, or artifical ingredients included won't be disappointed. Highly recommended.

I don't usually write reviews but thought it worth mentioning the quality of this peanut butter seems so much better direct from Amazon than it does from other sellers! I've purchased my supply from other sellers on Amazon for almost a year now and I always have to spend ten minutes and lots of patience combining the lump of nut butter sitting in the centre of the tub with the oil floating above which usually ends up with me loosing my cool by the time my wrist is hurting and there's peanut butter everywhere, but when purchased directly from Amazon I was pleasantly surprised upon opening the lid when greeted by a fully mixed lovely looking peanut butter with a beautiful consistently! I guess maybe it's because Amazon sells more and therefore hold newer batches, but who knows... Either way I will be buying directly from Amazon in the future and will update my review if anything changes.

Peanut butter & marmite spread on toast for breakfast is a firm family favourite - this product isn't overly sweet with a much more natural taste. My only regret is that dear Mr Amazon packaged the tub in a very large cardboard box & secured it with large sheets of crumpled thick paper (a wee box would have sufficed. Less waste and therefore ultimately less tree destruction and space used in the vans. )

Had real trouble stopping myself from simply sitting with a spoon and devouring the lot! Wonderful peanut butter, needs a good stir but you end up with a nice spreadable texture of peanut butter. Delighted to find PB without salt - no grotty nasties or palm oil either. Pure peanutty goodness. Love it!

Having moved to Italy from the states, we realized a dearth of peanut butter here. Admittedly, it's one of the few things we were missing. I ordered this as a surprise for my hubby who now delights in an afternoon snack of toast smothered with PB. Tastes great, almost like an organic PB we once bought in California. The only thing I don't appreciate is the plastic tub as we're trying to reduce our consumption of plastic. I do, however, like the large quantity (would be quite heavy in glass, no doubt) and it's a reasonable price for organic.

product was great...didn't evan get to eat it as it was damaged upon delivery. Amazon need to be more carefully with deliveries..and stop treating every box the same and thinking items inside are not delicate or valuable.

taste is ok, but its very thick and separated. You need to stir it lots which is difficult and time consuming.I bought a tub of manilife at the same time. Far superior in flavour and texture, and somehow manages to only need a brief stir
