It's not as handy as the regular-size Kensington lock because it's locked with a key rather than a number combination. You get 2 keys, but I worry about misplacing the key when I'm in a hurry. That said, it works, and using it means that I don't have to take it with me if I'm working in a library and want to get a drink or go to the loo.

The lock mechanism can be a little bit fiddly but overall it's a decent lock for a quick deterrent in public.I did have one laptop where the lock failed to fit, it's a professional grade laptop from one of the mainstream vendors so that surprised me a bit but all the other devices I tried it with it fitted well, so must be a one off.

The media could not be loaded. Bought this lock to go with new Lenovo that I also bought from Amazon. I have used a Kensington laptop lock before but not one with "cleat locking". I had my doubts as the central prong of the cleat device didn't seem to retract consistently but tried it out and that was my first mistake. Now stuck in the laptop. Amazon being very inconsistent in their response. Avoid this lock or Amazon Warehouse or both.
