EverGreen Easy Spreader Plus, Grass and Lawn Seed Spreader, for Easy Application of Lawn Products and Grass Seed, 620.0 mm*240.0 mm*300.0 mm

Bought at the beginning of August to replace and old spreader, and ensure I could give the lawn at least one dressing before the end of our apology for a summer. It arrived promptly with concise instructions on how to assemble and use (both easy). It is constructed from sturdy plastic and is well up to the job, and easy to hose down after using. Instructions include information on settings (lever positions) for well know products to ensure correct application on assumption you walk at the recommended rate of 1 metre per second. I set the lever to 0, filled the spreader one third full, placed it on the lawn and reset the lever to the correct position for my lawn feed. I then set off at the recommended rate which I achieved with ease. When reaching the end of the run I simply picked the spreader up, without resetting the lever position to 0, and replaced it for the start of the next run. It did not dump any unwanted lawn feed and there was no scorching. Following some rain it is evident the correct amount of lawn feed has been applied.Brilliant product at a very competitive price.

I've just received this product & haven't had a chance yet to use it, so not exactly an informed review, but some observations.....It's very robust, takes some 2 or 3 minutes to assemble & is bigger than I imagined. The principle it operates on is easy to grasp but I only bought it on the basis of some of the hundreds of reviews I read on Amazon, which contain many helpful tips on how to get the best from it, unlike the extremely skimpy instructions included in the box, so I'm pre-prepared, so.... read the longer positive reviews folks & you'll hopefully avoid the pitfalls the negative reviewers encountered, from people who've overcome the design faults by their own ingenuity.For instance... fill it to one third (gauge marks on the inside of the hopper) on a piece of newspaper off your lawn, lever set at 0 (closed). Tip back any spillage, which there shouldn't be. Use it on lever set to 2 rather than the 4.5 Evergreen recommend... they want you to use more Evergreen feed n weed so you'll buy some more. It's only the right-hand wheel which powers the spreading mechanism, so at the end of a row turn the lever to 0 & tip it on its left to avoid any extra spillage then start again to avoid grassburn....... and so on.Pity that Evergreen don't copy & paste these simple remedies into the instruction leaflet to avoid negative reviews but there you go. New Marketing Manager required at Evergreen.

I've wanted one of these for years to try and get a better finish to my weed and feed spreading which has always been a bit naf. It works well and makes the job faster and easier. Wish I'd bought one sooner.So I didn't read the instruction manual and got carried away with sticking the wheels on and the spreader had come off the axle, so needed to disassemble, which was reassuringly difficult and then put back together with a little care. I got a very even finish with the exception of 1 rushed bit in the corner, one tiny strip where I drifted out too far and an overdose where I topped up the hopper and did not turn shut the delivery holes. It has saved me half an hour and helped do a better job. Happy days.

I was put off from buying this because when you add in the cost of seeds, it can all become rather expensive quickly. However, after spending hours trying to spread grass seed manually over our large lawn and ending up with mounds of seed randomly dotted around, instead of an evenly spread layer across the entire lawn. I opted for this. Took less than 15 minutes, seed spread evenly, and now several weeks have gone by and there are no 'missed lines' in the lawn and it all looks great.Easy to put together and can be stored away easily for future use. The one negative is that it doesn't work when pulling it backwards or turning it causes it to 'dump' a fair amount of seed. So I found my self lifting it up when I reached the edges and turning it around, so as not to waste seed.

Only one wheel works the rotor spindle and wheel slips on grass so it does not work as intended . Need to use a lot of wd40 to make it work the second season - even after thorough washing before storage for winter .

Love it! so much easier than spreading by hand and much more cost effective as I didn't use as much, (saving) which means no black areas. The only downside there was no locking nut for the feed settings. Sorted it with a bit of gaffa tapeAll in all I would recommend this spreader to all who want one just need to check the parts before despatch or drop a roll of gaffa tape and the box with itCheers Derrick
