Brilliant, a must for any traveller
Advantages: no keys, can use on large backpack, can use on personal items in hotel room, can use as a simple lock without the cordDisadvantages: only three number combination ~can be opened in tewn minutes like any otherThis item was perfect for securing my large 65litre backpack for the plane and foreign airport. It was also great in the hotel room for securing my backpack and bags to furniture. Compared with buying more expensive straps and chain bags for extortionate amounts and attracting attension, this discreet all-purpose lock was great

ROBUST IT BE NOT
It locks well enough, but scarcely protects in intent.

Very useful travel lock
Surprisingly sturdy, only knocked off one star because its a bit fiddly to use the cable lock, which is attached via the bottom of the lock if you have big fingers but that's probably unfair, I would like a slightly larger sized product but don't be put off as this is a very good oneOne of the many uses this can be put to is for securing cupboard and wardrobe doors through the handles in hotels etc when laptops etc wont fit in the room safes, that's if they have one.As an aside, often chambermaids leave room doors wide open for airing rooms even when they have finished cleaning them which gives, alas, fellow guests "opportunities"Very good vendor who quickly and professionally sorted out a non delivery problem probably caused by the Royal Mail messing up an overseas mail redirection that they failed end when I instructed them to.Actually the price is very cheap considering how well made this is and its ability for numerous uses.Edit: 13/02/16............Alas I dropped it, from chest height, onto a tiled floor whilst opening it and it jammed open, the cylinders wouldn't turn to allow me to secure it afterwards. My own fault entirely and I blame my own clumsiness, not the lock and still recommend it as I must have used dozens if times prior without problem.I do though feel rather silly and saying how strong it seemed but due the nature of it being a cylinder combination, rather than key operated, lock its bound to be more fragile to a heavy impact event.Just to emphasis what a good price and product this I've ordered another one.

It's okay.... but
Mmmm a bit of a struggle to lock it and some times it looked locked and I pulled to check and it all came apart.. i have used it and in a tight spot I would use it but I won't go too far from my ruck sack or kit

Not great - and 3 digit combination locks are not ideal anyway.
So, two problems with this.I found it rather easy to accidentally change the code while locking things together - managed to do it more than once.As a result, I found myself having to break into the lock...What I then realized was...well, 3 digit combinations are not a lot of use if you want to leave an item unattended for more than a a couple of minutes. Start at 000 and enter codes at approximately 2 a second. If the code was set at 999 it will take you abut 9 minutes. Makes you wonder why 3 digit locks are popular - surely the 4th digit can't cost much more, and makes a massive difference in ease of breaking in.

The lock is really tiny
Definitely a bike/large thing lock. I hoped it would be a useful multi-purpose lock but the catch at the top is too small to fit into much. I used it while back packing and didn't find it value for money.
