Broil King 958344 Regal S590 Pro Gas Grill, 5-Burner, Stainless Steel

See attached pictures. I take very good care of my grill, always cleaning it and covering it when not in use. I have had the grill exactly 1 year, see the pictures of the rust and deterioration of this product.BROIL KING - this is embarassing for the price of this product!!

Sturdy, well made grill that's easy to assemble. I just completed the "Burn in" and it seems to heat very quickly with plenty of power. All parts seem very sturdy, especially the burners and cooking grates. I don't see myself using the rotisserie feature very often but it's nice to have it I guess. I had a ding in one of the doors out of the package but Amazon quickly resolved the issue. A+ service!In comparison to my Weber Genesis, this seems sturdier and certainly has more features. I hope it holds up well!

I've had the S490 Pro for a year now. It's been mostly terrific. I'm a novice griller, but I've been able to cook steaks and get a nice caramelized crust and grill marks. I have not attempted to clean it yet other than empty the grease trap. I should probably clean it before the next season starts. I made my first warranty claim with the manufacturer because the side burner no longer ignites. I'll see how that claim goes. So far, lighting the grill is quick and easy! My only main complaint thus far is that this grill does not avoid flare-ups like I was lead to believe by reading the literature about it. In fact, I've grilled some burgers that flared up badly. As I attempted to slide the burgers to a different location, the flare-ups FOLLOWED the fat drippings as I move them... it was actually comical because no matter where I moved the burgers, the flare-ups moved with me and persisted after I set them in a new location. Mind you, this occurred within a few months of ownership, so no grease buildup. Same for some steaks that got a little too burned because of flare-ups. Again, I'm a bit of a novice, but I was expecting better performance against flare-ups. Perhaps flame tamers that are further from the flame source? But overall, I'm really happy with it.3-YEAR UPDATE (3/14/2021): I'm still loving this! I've done moderate maintenance that least 3 years, so this is my first "deep clean"... I think with a deep clean like this each year, it would be easier and take less time (this cleaning took me close to 7 hours to go through all the parts). Like some other reviewers mentions, the stainless steel components (flame tamers, burners, bottom plates) seem less than optimal. SEE PICS. But it's also not a $3,000 grill. Although I cover up this grill with the Broil King cover, and it sits under a patio cover, I live in Oregon, so still lots of moisture in the air with seasonal rains. Some rust is expected. But with a wire brush that includes a pin to unclog the burner holes, a 16" tube brush, and correctly re-assembling the gas collector box (the part that houses the spark plugs), it works like NEW. (NOTE: I've seen other people have trouble with it starting after maintenance - be sure you're re-assembling the collector box correctly. I put it together the same way the original installer did, which was incorrect, and it didn't work. Broil King has a video to show hot it's assembled).

!st grill that I bought----damaged in delivery.Bought the same grill again----missing a factory installed part, making it impossible to put together.Returning the grill----not that simple. I won't be credited with MY money until 24 hours AFTER the product is returned, even though the tech who came to put it together verified that the factory installed part is missing!!

Compared hundreds of grills before I bought the S590pro.You can spend a ton of money on a grill and you can go dirt cheap. In this case it is basicalky the best balance I could find.I have had for 2 months and it does everything it is supposed to.Looks good too.I was going to knock a star off due to a scratched lid and dented door but Amazon & Broilking worked together to promptly send me a new lid assay and right door so... 5 stars remainsYou will want a second set of hands when you assemble... take a close look at your hardware and know what's what before you start assembly.Give yourself a couple hours to unpack, inventory, and put together.
