TimexUnisex Expedition Digital CAT 33mm Watch
S**P
I keep buying this watch because I love it.
Pro: Lots of options, two time zones, alarm, chrono, night gloCon: (Minor) Battery replacement in the Expedition has become more and more difficult over the years because the insides are becoming more delicate. I have four old expedition watches, and as an experiment I asked a jeweler to replace the batteries on all of them. The oldest was the only one that still responded normally on the first try. The second oldest required the backing to be placed a certain way, so we got it right on the second try. The two newest were inoperable after battery replacement. The reason why I just buy a fresh one, is that once the silicone seal is breached during battery replacement, there is no guarantee of water resistance anymore.

Be aware --- it's smaller than the standard watch
The picture exactly matched the Timex Expedition that I've been wearing for maybe ten years, so I bought it. The old watch never gave up, it was just battered. Plus, the band was stretched out and I couldn't get it tight on my wrist, so I was probably going to be spending half the price of the watch for a new band anyway. I seem to remember that I always had an issue tightening the band on this watch because I have a smaller wrist - see below for how this impacts the new one.So, I got the new one and immediately noticed that it's smaller than the standard size watch I've been wearing. I'm a guy, and is it a women's watch? Or a kid's watch? No, it's advertised as unisex, and as I mentioned above, same design as what I've been wearing. I never measured the old watch, but this is indicated to be 33 mm in diameter. The band fit my wrist snugly, and I used up all but about 1/2" of the band. (The band size is indicated - it goes up to 7-1/2", and my relatively small wrist is about 7"). But after wearing it for a couple of days it's grown on me. I can read it fine, I can operate the buttons normally, and I will probably hit fewer things as I wear it compared to the old one. I don't need my watch to be as big as the old one.Just be aware that if you're a bigger person and have a beefy wrist, the band on this may not fit you. I haven't gotten this one wet yet, so no review on that.

MY FAVORITE DAY-TO-DAY WATCH
I ordered this discounted Used-Like New Timex Expedition watch & received it on schedule but with mangled packaging (no damage to watch). I buy this same style over & over again because of its moderate size (33mm case), low-key appearance, and useful functions. The only problem I've ever encountered with this & other digital watches is changing the CR2016 battery without damaging the innards (thankfully, there are instructional videos for that)! This style has a sturdy ribbon watchband, but didn't have the new, easy-to-remove pins that allow for easy changes. Otherwise, it's perfect, IMHO.

My kid's favorite.
My younger son's being wearing this watch since he was in elementary school. Now he's in college, and he still prefer this watch over others he has. When it's time to change battery, he just buys a new one. It's a bit of bother to look for the shop that will replace the battery, and last time he try to replace it, it didn't work. He must be on his fourth or fifth one. He didn't like the new watch band that came with this one. He prefers old style.

Durable, still going after 12 yrs
I have worn it every day for the last 12 yrs! Most of the features still work but the light no longer works and the buttons are hard to press. I will be replacing the watch with a new one of the same kind. The feature I use the most is the chronograph.

Flimsy band, nice small watch head
Band was too short and thin for me, don't know if it is possible to replace the band, but I liked how small the watch head was. It's just that the band felt more flimsy instead of sturdy, it felt like I had accidentally purchased a watch for someone smaller, like a child. Still nice, might want to look for another option from timex though if you're looking for something more sturdy.

I abuse it for a couple years and buy a new one
Tried changing the battery once and it didn’t go successfully but I swap out the 16mm band for a blacked out adjustable one and its the smallest most reliable watch I’ve had. I tried out similar sized watches for cheaper and was displeased. Just got my 3rd and it rarely leaves my wrist endures pool, ocean, rock climbing etc. rock climbing can take a toll on it as i bash/scrape the wall with it byeah anyway find an aftermarket watch band you like cuz im personally not a fan of the one it comes with

Good Watch; Bad Strap
The watch is like many other I've worn, Timex included, and has all the features I want in a standard watch. I like the colors which are very similar to my last Timex which I've had to abandon due to failure of the wrist band after many years of daily use and the dearth of stores which replace straps. The watch itself is reliable and works well, but I do not like the velcro strap. I have very small wrists and searched a lot before deciding on this watch with an adjustable strap unhindered by the placement of buckle and holes. However, the strap is still too big to fit me well and it is tedious to align both sides of the velcro. Also, the velcro will catch my sleeves or other parts of my clothing every now and then and is avoidable only through meticulous placment of the two sides of velcro. I myself can't replace a strap with a better one because I don't know how, but if you can and have large enough wrists, then this may be the watch for you. If the manufacture or anyone else knows where one can purchase a small wrist band where the sellers will remove the one that I now have with a new, better fitting one, I wish there were a way that you could tell me. I do wish the watch were flatter because my sleeves are hard to move back and forth over it and it's also in the way of typing on my computer as well as tucking sheets in between mattress and headboard. (I can't rate the light because I haven't yet looked for the switch, and its water resistance I can't comment upon because I have not and will not subject the watch to water.)
