This stuff works great at both treating algae and preventing it. I live in Phoenix AZ so my pool is more like a hot tub right now. The warm water is unfortunately very susceptible to algae growth if you don't stay strictly on top of your chemicals. It clears up the water very good. It hasn't gotten rid of ALL the black algae but it's been stubborn against every product I've used. Pool clears up within 24hours. Not too bad on the chlorine smell. Works for at least the week. Ive been getting better at treating the pool weekly to prevent any algae. Like I said the warm water will let algae grow like crazy if I don't stay on top of it. Not any products fault.

I was surprised at how quickly and effectively this works. The water was sparkling clear and there was not a heavy scent of chemicals. All algae that had started forming on the bottom was gone, with very little effort from me. Well worth every penny!

Works great. Comparable to other shock I have used in the past. Seems to dissolve quickly and clear up my pool the way it should. I love having a box of these on hand to use whenever needed because if you have a pool, you will eventually need it. Wish the bags were earlier to open and had a tear tab.
