Libbey 14-Piece Moderno Punch Bowl Set

This is a very cool punch bowl and is quite large. It will satisfy a good size party with enough drinks for a good long while. It is VERY cool in its shape. Very contemporary looking and will elicit many compliments. Do not purchase if you are looking for a traditional punch bowl. The glass ladle is beautiful but you may want to get a plastic one as a back up or for use with young people or a party. A little more expensive than the typical punch bowl set but well worth it.

Nice punch bowl . My husband thinks it's the best out of the three we have had. Very Modern! The ladle is cool.

Love how this bowl is shallow, looks classy, and priced right! I have used it 3 times so far and it looks so pretty for guests to enjoy their punch. My c&b bowl cracked after a few uses -- this glass is a lot stronger! The ladle is great, too. Haven't used the cups

The bowl is lovely and I was looking forward to receiving it, but when I opened it up, 3 of the cups were broken. I returned it and ordered a second one, using over-night shipping since I needed it right away. I opened up the second box and the bowl was in 1000 pieces. The item was packaged very poorly both times. I ended up purchasing a differenct punch bowl set (that I did not like as well) at a local store. If you can find this item in a store it might be worth buying, but I would NOT order it from Amazon or any of their sellers. Very disappointed!

I received this as an early gift to use for Christmas dinner. It came in a timely manner from the seller. The box said, "Hand made in Mexico" and the set was packaged nicely other than the ladle which I thought could have been secured a tad bit better due to it's delicate nature. Also, the set was a bit dusty but I guess that's the nature of being hand made in mexico.The bowl:I was pleased to see the big chunky bowl which is quite impressive. The squatty simplistic shape and thickness of the bowl will make for a sophisticated presentation in which the punch itself becomes the star.A few bubbles in the glass here and there give away the hand made nature of the bowl.The cups:Each being slightly different and mimicking the shape of the bowl, the glasses are independently unique in that the handles are a tad different on each one. It is plain to see they have been attached in a hand made fashion, and I enjoy the location of the handles at the lower squatty section of the cup. There appears to be a very slight dimple on the rim of each cup which I assume is due in part of the hand made nature of the cup. ? The cups have a wide opening which give plenty of room to clear the ol' schnoz when taking a sip. The smallish size of the cups add to the charm of the set. Filling to a reasonable level, they look to hold about shy of 3/4 cup of punch.The Ladle:The ladle is quite impressive! The extra long, imperfect stretched looking rope of glass which has been bent at the top is a dead give away that this was made by hand.* I agree with another reviewer that a plastic ladle would be a wise idea to use with this set if children will be joining your party. The same thing goes for those of you who will be making adult punches.I can see where this ladle would be very easy to break as well as crack the bowl if a clumsy partaker is not paying attention. The ladle will most definitely need to be handled with caution as it looks to be of delicate nature.From what I can tell without actually using this set, I am very pleased. Coming from Libbey which has in my mind always been on the lower less expensive end of the glassware spectrum, I am surprised and pleased with the quality and style of this set. Especially for the price.Update:After using the set for Christmas dinner, I have to say that I'm very disappointed. The shape of the bowl renders it completely awkward to ladle the punch out comfortably unless its very full. Once the volume of punch goes down a bit it becomes very awkward. Although the punch bowl looks impressive, I would not recommend.

I don't really have a huge need for a punch bowl set, but I thought, at this price, it was worth the investment. I will likely use it once...maybe twice a year.

The punch bowl was bought by me an given to my wife for a Christmas present and she loves it! I looked a several and this is the one my daughter and I bought. Surprised at the heavy designed glass so it seems very strong. We used it for the first time News Years Eve and it was heavy hit!

I bought this for my daughter's baby shower this coming weekend. I just unboxed it and washed everything... WOW is it pretty! I am so pleased with it. Seems awfully delicate though... the glasses are very delicate and the glass ladle has such a long slender handle -- very impressive but I hope it makes it through the party without breaking, as I'm looking forward to using it at holidays again and again.
