I'm from Argentina so I was looking for a mate, I really enjoyed and love this one, the description had sizes but I'm not sure what they meant, over all after curing it correctly I have been using it without any trouble.

This is really as pretty as the picture. I forgot how lightweight gourds are and it’s a pleasant surprise when you’re picking it up. It did take a little while for the delivery so it you plan to give it as a gift allow extra time.

A nice cup, but there is a raised part in the center ( natural gourd structure ), that interferes with the bombilla..

Big disappointment. I only had this gourd for a week. I was really excited to get this and when I got it I was a bit bummed about the size. So okay I’ll let that slide, I followed instructions to cure it, had my first sip and ended up with some Mate leaves in my mouth. Bombilla filter is no good. Plus the gourd gets too hot to hold you have to grab it from the bottom. Worst part is yet to come... the gourd started leaking & now there’s mold inside. Really nasty. Hot water leaks from the bottom of the leaf of the gourd. Seriously don’t recommend you buy this product! I would leave no stars if I could.

I have wanted this product for quite some time. I love the look. It is aesthetically pleasing to the eyes on the outside. However I was mortified to find black mold completely coating the inside. I am returning the product. I may have just gotten a bad one? I gave it 2 stars because of the outside look.

Item is as described. It is much nicer than I expected. I have been using it for about a week now and it is exactly what I wanted. Seems to be well made and is just the right size for my palm.

Beautifully made and speedy delivery

I haven't finished curing the gourd yet, so I can't speak to the full experience of this product, but it is beautiful. Obviously hand crafted, it's a one-of-a-kind object meaning, art. The gourd skin is quite beautiful and luxurious and feels a bit like leather. The metal work on the outside is sturdy and functional. The bombilla itself works well and lets a bit more of the leaf through than the spoon style that I'm used to, but still is very nice to use and extremely easy to clean.One note about this: the gourd has to be conditioned when you get it so don't expect to be able to use it for at least 24 hours. Conditioning involves making strong maté in it, letting it soak into the gourd flesh for 24 hours, then scraping the walls of the gourd with a spoon.The bombilla itself comes apart by unscrewing the filter at the base from the stem, meaning cleaning it is as easy as a quick rinse.

Great cup. Beautiful and easy to hold in my hands. The volume is just suitable if you want to drink Yerba Mate!

Important note: this product is not designed for other type of tea but south american “mate”. Just follow the cure instructions and it will work nicely. This is a great product: good quality and hand made.
