ZYXEL8-Port Desktop Gigabit Ethernet Switch - metal housing, Limited Liftetime Protection [GS108B]

Have this connected to my Starlink router. Very easy setup, took less than 5 minutes. Plug and play with automatic POE detection. I like the way all the connectors are on one side including the power. Well engineered piece of kit. Works as designed. Will update if I run into any issues.

Great affordable made of metal switch. Does exactly what I need it to do. I do like that I can plug cables into the rear of the unit for a cleaner look. Nothing else to really say. It performs connectivity and switching duties without issue.

Phone works, internet works, and I have extra ports at my school. No more waiting for tech department!!!!

I like this switch enough to buy a second one. I’m using this as a wired hub downstream from the main switch, so I expand my 2 network plugs from the basement without having to snake more cables from the main switch through walls and floor. It’s a nice feature to have the speed and status indicator (different LED color) in the front of the unit.

Seems to be made very nicely. Metal enclosure. Reassuringly heavy power brick. Worked right out of the box. Note that this is an unmanaged switch - the kind that we usually need.I am curious as to why ALL 8 ports are POE. You will almost-always be connecting to your network over a non-POE connection, so in practice you'd need a maximum of 7 POE ports. But as stated, it's working fine as it is. POE ports, can, of course, usually connect fine with non-POE devices.Right now I'm only powering one Open Mesh (now Datto) WiFi access point, but I'm sure it will have no trouble with more of these. EDIT 11-20-2019 now powering 3 of these access points, with no issues, of course.I've been generally pleased with Xyxel products, so am hoping for more of the same here.

Like the LEDs on the front panel and the ethernet ports on the rear. Makes for a very clean looking install. Good buy for the price!

I got this to help distribute my internet to my wifi, NAS and TV it could not even pass the signal to the TV! Unfortunately I waited until I got my NAS before trying it and Return Time had expired. ☹️ So, when I upgraded to a “real” 10G switch I didn’t choose the affordable Zytec 10G multi gig switch! I bought a more famous brand.
