I went through about 10 garlic presses from various brands and price ranges and they were all horrible. I was ready to just give up
I really don't understand the negative reviews on this product. I went through about 10 garlic presses from various brands and price ranges and they were all horrible. I was ready to just give up. I wanted to give this a try and so far I am VERY IMPRESSED. It's the first garlic press in years, that does what it's supposed to do. It is heavy. Stainless steel. Solid. The grips are easy on your hands. And best of all, it minced nearly 100% of the garlic and the only thing that's left, is the outer skin. Cleaning isn't a rocket science: scrape out the garlic with the tip of a knife, rinse under running water and use a brush to scrub clean. I had no difficulties with it. Other garlic presses bent, wasted nearly 70% of the garlic, and were impossible to use. THIS garlic press takes the ball. It might be the last I ever own.

This Kitchen Tool is a Godsend
I have had the worst luck with finding a garlic press that - actually - presses - the - entire - garlic - piece. Most just gave out after about 2/3 of the way through and then left behind a squashed relic that you needed an extra 5 minutes to extract with a steak knife. Those bad boys often broke apart within months - suddenly coming undone for lack of durability or possibly shame. The Kebley outperforms any other garlic press I've ever had the displeasure to own. It completely crushes the garlic piece in one press and releases it without hesitation. Clean up is equally a dream with no need to spend extra time on scraping. I love, I love it, I love it!**** Amendment - July 2022 - I have had this garlic press for more than 3 years now, and it still works perfectly. I have never once had an issue with it. Like one other review said, this will be the last garlic press I ever own.

Update January 22, 2022Crap! Made in "you know where". Like seemingly everything today, poor material quality and too thin.Basket wall is to thin and gradually cracked. Broke today 1/22/22, five years after purchase in the middle of needing garlic pressed. This ain't your mother's garlic press...Not stainless steel at all! Dubious coating/painting make it look like stainless steel! Heavy white oxidation, cannot be cleaned off.Trash.Update April 27, 2021I been using this since I purchased it.There are some issues emerging.I noticed strong oxidation issues with black spotting and white flaky residue when drying despite thorough cleaning with a brush and drying. (See pics) Cleaned it off with a steel brush hopefully this is not some hazardous component. Also, the cop where you put the garlic in tents to bend into an oval shape over time due to the compressing action and the strain it receives. This weakness is mainly caused by the walls being too thin. After a while the piston won't go away so you will have to press the sides with a channel lock or vise grip to return her to rounder shape again.Unfortunately a common problem with modern garlic presses as they all seem to save where they can on material.I notice for a fact because an old one I have and lost in a move never had this issue.Original post:Nice! Heavy stainless steel garlic press with self cleaning holes!Very nice!

Quality time-saver in the kitchen
Kitchen experience: intermediate level slow cooker chef.Tl;dr:I instantly hated this garlic press. I then discovered that I don't have to peel the garlic cloves before pressing them. Now I love it.I am always on the lookout for new cooking methods/utilizations or recipes that will minimize my time in the kitchen while maximizing my food's flavor. I came across a slow cooker recipe that called for 10 minutes of food prep, but I found myself spending 15 minutes on the garlic: peeling the garlic, cutting off the garlic ends, peeling the garlic, AGAIN.. mincing the garlic, muttering to myself how much I suck at using a chef's knife, getting my fingers sticky and reeking of garlic...I came across the Kebley g-press on Amazon due to high reviews, and it has become a game changer for me in the kitchen ever since I bought it and actually learned how to use it correctly.First impressions:Looks: it may or may not be the most aerodynamic garlic press on the market, but the speed at which you actually press the garlic is entirely dependent on the individual user. The plastic inserts on the insides of the handles are a bit tacky, but I reassure myself every time I use it that my friends don't think any less of me for not owning a 100% stainless steel garlic press.Weight: solid tool with a nice heft to it, which could easily double this g-press as a blunt object for self-defense, if necessary.Size: it fits comfortably in my hand (I can palm a basketball).Feel: the actual "pressing" motion has a nice firm give towards the end of the final "make sure it's all out of there" squeeze, but not so much that I ever feel like I am going to snap the thing in half. I would speculate that it has the potential to last me my entire lifetime. Conclusion: as I mentioned before - I was an idiot and had no clue that you can just toss in a clove and squeeze the garlic right out the press. I was still wheeling and peeling the stuff before putting it through the press, and because of that, the garlic would ooze out the top like when you use too much play-dough in a play-dough mold. It was incredibly frustrating having that happen and then delicately opening the press to avoid 1/3 of the semi-smushed garlic from plopping out and onto my countertop. I would then have to realign the leftover 1/3 semi-smushed garlic back into the press, only to witness the same thing happen, again. Don't be like me.Cleanup was much, much easier once I figured out that you can keep the peel on the clove when pressing it.I am all about efficiency, which is why I gave this garlic press 4 stars. In a perfect world, Kebley would have included an additional silicon or plastic piece/tool (even something as simple as a plastic toothpick) to aid in poking the garlic mash out of the holes for an easier cleanup. Aside from that, I would highly recommend this product to anyone who hates chopping garlic with a knife.

I love to put some garlic in every dish but hates ...
I am a big fan of garlic. I love to put some garlic in every dish but hates to cut it! The garlic smell will stays on your hand forever! This garlic press is genius! I first saw this in a ramen restaurant that they let you squeeze the garlic sauce on the ramen. It's so easy! I am so happy to see amazon has this product! The product itself works great. The material is hard and heavy and it did a great job when press the garlic. It's easy to clean too. You just need to wash it under a running water! Very good product!
