Very sturdy and strong
Very sturdy and strong, used them for my RV bumper :-)Straight up, I did not use these for their advertised application. I used them to mount a toolbox on the rear of my travel trailer. My travel trailer did not have any standard bumper. These were perfect. They have a nice base, four good mounting holes per base and a good enough angle and length to hold my tool box.Perfect for my application.

Rear support bracket install…. Success!
The media could not be loaded. Don’t write many reviews, but I thought I’d get one in here. Im doing a Jeep XJ build and part of that was getting a new rear bumper w tire carrier. As most XJ owners know, Jeep Cherokee’s bumper attachments at the unibody are terrible and weak. This is made to address this issue by having it attached directly to the frame where the factory tow hitch was was originally mounted. This bracket kit is aa great option for that. I I found the bracket to be very well made… welds were good and overall very sturdy. I was not however, happy with the grade 5 hardware that they sent with the bracket. I figure if you’re going to have mounting brackets that were going to have to sustain pulling and towing you would want to provide at least grade 8 bolts. Easy fix though, I just went down to the hardware store and purchased a set of grade 8.8 hardware to use instead of the grade 5 that came with the bracket. Installation of these brackets, took some time as a matter of fact, it took me most of the afternoon. I had to use a saws all to cut out part of the unibody so that the brackets would fit in. Also, there were all kinds of different types of brackets and support bolts within the frame that needed to be removed. This was challenging because of the rust and tight quarters you have to work in. All in all however, I believe this bracket to be worth the money and very effective to achieve the added strength necessary to have an aftermarket jeep Overlander type bumper with a tire carrier. After the install, I feel much more confident about the total load that this bumper can take due to the brackets I installed. I think the only improvement I would have for this bracket is to add grade 8 hardware that is the reason I gave it a four star instead of a five star. Take your time, pick a good radio station and have the patience to do this right. I give it a 4 out if 10 difficulty rating for a guy who had a guy change his alternator! Happy Jeepin’!

Needed. Excellent price. Thank you

Strong upgrade with poor manufacturing tolerance and cheap hardware
Hardware included is not sufficiently strong for its intended purpose. Recommend using grade 8 or higher. Welded nuts also don't perfectly align with the holes in the vehicles frame. Had to widen some of them with a die grinder, not particularly difficult to do but a bit annoying. Overall they're very sturdy and a significant improvement over stock.

Good product at a good price
These were built well there this seem to be welded good. They don't just slip in you do have to be able to use an angle grinder and faness them into place but it's not the products fault. In my case it's an old Jeep that's been wheeled hard so yeah the unibody does twist and bend. Not a bad job but you do need a little skill.

Adequate, but can be improved.
Not installed yet, but a few observations:1. Material is heavy gauge. Looks sufficient for the application.2. The nuts are lightly spot welded. May be subject to breaking under torque.3. The powder coating is pretty light. Some edges and corners wore through the box and will require touch-up from shipping damage.4. Powder was sprayed in the threads of the nuts, so they will require re-chasing before bolting in.5. Included hardware appears to be SAE grade 5 or metric 8.8, at best. I prefer SAE Grade 8 or metric 12.8.For the price, it's a good purchase, but can and should be improved prior to installation. If I had to do it over again, I'd order an uncoated version, improve the welds on the nuts, prime and paint myself, and use Grade 8 hardware to install.

Must Cut Rear Frame Rail
Okay - I was mixed on the reviews of this item but I decided to give it a try. I have installed them in the XJ and I can say if you COMPLETELY remove the rear frame rail section of the XJ and I mean COMPLETELY remove then the braces fit perfectly. How do I know - well I installed two of them. My first attempt was me trying to save as much of the frame rail as possible and the fitment was horrible. On my second install I removed the entire rear frame rail section and the brace fit like it came from the factory installed. I highly recommend this product but you have to be committed to the Reciprocating Saw - don't be timid - CUT HARD CUT OFTEN and you will be pleased with this product.

Don't fit
I cut the opening pretty much as big an you can make it by lining up the cuts with the inside of the frame rail. Still had to shave off some material from the bottom of the bracket with a grinder. Had to open up the bottom holes on the frame rails to get the bolts for my gas tank skid to go in. Once my skid was in and tight, it completely threw off the 4 bolts at the rear of each bracket so I'm going to have to open them up as well. Flat out don't fit unless you hate your own time. Spend some money on better ones.
