Expensive as all get out but Great!
Yeah, this is super expensive. I was hesitant but I really craved romesco dinner. The flavor was great and I would buy again. One of these is enough for the 4 servings size of the copy cat blue apron romesco beef and ditali pasta recipe.

Some things you are better off buying instead of making yourself
We love this romesco sauce. It must be a nightmare to try and DIY so I’m glad I found it. We use it as a bed for sautéed broccolini (sautéed in oven safe pan on high for a minute in tablespoon of olive oil plus salt and pepper to taste then add 3/4 tablespoon of butter to pan 325 oven for ten minutes). It pairs amazingly. It’s from an old Amazon meal kit recipe that we still make even though they stopped selling the kits. Grilled/sautéed paprika pork chops (sautéed on high 2 min per side then 325 oven until desired temp about 10 mins), salted baby potatoes (cover with cold water plus tablespoon of salt, boil until water evaporates about 25-30 mins) with a cilantro chutney, and the aforementioned romesco broccolini. Bon appetit!

Romesco Great Flavor
I first tried Romesco through Blue Apron. This Romesco has a great flavor. I just wish I could get in a larger size.

Very oily, weak flavor, expensive
I have wanted to taste Romesco Sauce for years. I finally decided to (1) buy a bottle and (2) make my own from a combination of recipes found on the Web. I made my sauce a few days before this bottle arrived-- safely, I might add, with no glass breakage or leakage. I thought it was expensive--over $10 for 6.5 ounces--but that didn't bother me because I wanted to taste the real thing made in Spain since I had never experienced it before. I thought my Romesco Sauce was delicious with a wonderful smoky, nutty, and roasted red pepper flavor, and it was easy to make in the blender after roasting the tomatoes, red peppers, nuts, and garlic. I spread it on pan-roasted tuna and vegetables as suggested by the recipes. I eagerly opened the jar when it arrived but was not enthusiastic when I tasted it. It was made with basically the same ingredients I used but with 32% olive oil (I used about 20%) so it was excessively oily. The product was fresh and quite edible, but the flavor wasn't as complex and intense as my version. I could barely taste the ground almonds and hazelnuts and it used less smoked Spanish paprika (pimentón) than I did so it wasn't as smoky. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable on leftover vegetables but I won't buy it again. If you've never tasted it, go ahead and buy it but try to make your own.

Smelled and looked amazing, but arrived opened
I was unable to enjoy this product because it arrived with the lid partially opened and sauce spilled inside the bubble wrap and packaging.
