Joyva - Halvah Chocolate Covered - 8 oz.

I was really wanting some of this halvah and have had it numerous times from grocery stores (they always store it in a cold case) and it was great. BUT when I ordered it from this retailer it came just packed in an envelope...no cold pack or anything.Needless to say it was completely melted and tasted terrible. Considering it cost OVER DOUBLE from this retailer than from a grocery store i expected better, at least a cold pack thrown in the envelope with it but no nothing. And im pretty sure i even paid for expedited shipping to prevent this but cant remember.If you look in the pictures you see one large lump when in fact its “supposed to be” two separate bars with an even coating of chocolate around them, what i got was a meted together lump with a super thick chocolate layer covering the plastic tray and a light layer on the actual candy.DO NOT BUY COLD PRODUCTS FROM THIS RETAILER or you will be dissatisfied. I camt imagine how bad it would have looked if it was actually summer time.

I LOVE Halvah. Have enjoyed it for more than 50 years, but haven't had it in the last 10 years. Finally decided to see if I could find it on Amazon, and lo and behold, there it was! Overjoyed and waited in anticipation, but upon receipt, I was vastly disappointed! It was smashed, the plastic container it sits in was broken and the Halvah was melted. Although it didn't look pretty, I still couldn't wait for a bite. Unfortunately, along with the chocolatey sesame taste, I got a shard of the broken plastic in my first bite. Most of the chocolate coating is melted into an oily mess and stuck to the container. I'm sad to say this is my first and only 1-star product review. Sure wish I'd read the other reviewers who expeienced the same issue. Worst purchase ever!

I have loved this particular kind of (Joyva-Halvah chocolate) candy since I was a young boy living on the west side of Chicago. I recall fondly the small store on the corner selling this product when it was a half-moon shaped chocolate covered candy. Since that time whenever I see this product at a store I wind up buying a large number because they are not that easy to find but fortunately you can get them from Amazon on line. My only complaint is that this one 8 ounce (two bars in pack) was very expensive ($10.10). You may want to check the prices at other locations to get a better deal for this Joyva-Halvah chocolate covered 8 ounce bar.If you love chocolate covered halvah treat you should check out this product. Regardless of price.Regardless of flavor.You should have an expectation of getting something you buy, in good condition.Wish I had read other reviews... sadly the halvah arrived all melted. Bummer.

Ok, I grew up eating this stuff. My Italian American Dad loved it! I'm not certain how my parents discovered it. But..I LOVE it, too, and so does my grown son. Hard to describe..it has a texture that's both creamy, yet a bit "sandy", and a subtle sweetness. Great for dessert, snack or anytime. Made from sesame, it's satisfying, so you don't need much. All the varieties are great. It brought back wonderful memories; as yummy as it was back in the day. Thanks, Joyva! 🙂

I have enjoyed Joyva’s chocolate covered Halvah since childhood. Our son also loves it, so I got an order for him to, which he was delighted to receive. It tasted fresh. Packaging was excellent. Will look forward to ordering some more soon.

Ordered in the winter- January, but it still came melted and partly crumbly. Sad because this is our favorite halvah. I wish I knew when it’s OK to order. I noticed other reviews similar to mine.

I love halvah but was very disappointed with this purchase as it was completely melted and ruined. The halvah should have arrived with some kind of ice pack to preserve the integrity of the candy. I have ordered other kinds of candy in the summer and anything that may melt always comes with dry ice. This purchase was very expensive at almost $15.00 and ruined.
