Q: What is the source of the iodine?

I called the number on the label for product information and was told that the iodine is obtained from mined crystals that are created in caves in the USA that are salt peter mines. The iodine source is NOT from shellfish or kelp.

Q: Looking at the product label there is a statement that reads "For Talisman use only". Clarification would be helpful.

Such an odd statement indeed! Sodman's answer is basically correct (why all the thumbs down?). A talisman is something you carry or wear on your person, it is not ingested. I don't understand why this disclaimer is added to this product - and with 40 years in nutrition, herbalism and holistic health I do not agree with the manufacturer's response that anything holistic or considered a "folk remedy" is a talisman. This couldn't be further from the truth. IMO they sidestepped the answer. Other manufacturers do not call their products a talisman, nor do manufacturers of extracts, tinctures, herbs or supplements. Seeing it in their description raised a red flag and I wondered if it was actually their way of saying this isn't ASC grade iodine (meets or exceeds purity standards set by the American Chemical Society). Perhaps it's not pharmaceutical grade according to Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP). In other words, is this manufactured in an inspected facility for human consumption? As of January, 2022 they make no claim as to the ASC purity or manufacturing standards for human consumption. Calling it a talisman goes beyond concern for making health claims. I was checking out this manufacturer because of the nice price point but I'm sticking with my usual maker (Eisen-golden). Please note I do not have any affiliation with any of these manufacturers or sellers, this is just my opinion to the question. I took the time to post it because I find it frustrating when sellers and/or manufacturers of holistic products are not fully forthcoming.

Q: how many MG per two drops?

The answer to your excellent question depends on what exactly you are measuring: the iodine alone or with the iodide? The company really should include this in more detail, including how it's made, like the Eisen-golden Laboratories brand does that I've been buying for years. I'm only checking this brand out because the price for 2 bottles is only $13 compared to Eisen-golden at $10 per bottle. Here are the details on mg per drop from Eisen-golden which explains it much better: "Each drop contains 0.93 mg of Iodine and 1.85 mg of Potassium Iodide. The total Iodine content is thus 0.93 mg of Elemental Iodine, 1.42 mg of Iodine from Potassium Iodide, equaling a total of 2.34 mg of Iodine from all sources." So those saying it is 2.5 mg per drop are rounding up the total iodine and iodide together. My understanding is that when Dr. Brownstein (one of the experts in the field) recommends a specific dose of iodine he is referring to the combined iodine and iodide. Also keep in mind that measuring by drop is very imprecise, but in most instances it's close enough. Other info to ask is how is this made? I don't like that I have to call the company to learn about this. I could reach out via Amazon message.... :/ IDK, I'm thinking that saving few $ isn't worth the hassle. I get (rightfully) frustrated by these sellers who can't be bothered to include ALL the details of their product on the selling page - the details that buyers need. Can't help but wonder if such laziness spills over into their quality control. Note, I am an independent researcher and former nutritionist and I have no connections with any of these manufacturers or sellers.

Q: What is a serving X amount of drops or one full squeeze of the dropper? I can’t find any information on this.

One drop of lugol's 2% equals 2.5mg 10 drops equals 25.0mg 100 drops equals 250.0mg I would think each "full squeeze" of the dropper would be slightly different.
