You can see it works with your own eyes.
I did have one problem with the outlet from the big black tank. Not sure why the existing output leaked so bad, but I finally went and bought a new part from the hardware store and leak is fixed. I did try and tighten and retape the threads but no luck. The part was defective. Regardless, I still am giving this a 5 stars. If Customer service would like to reach out to me about this issue, i will be glad to share my information. I bought this for my camper at the RV park that has well water. Not sure I trust the water here even after this filter system, but it looks like it 100% works. In just the first 2 mins, this is what the prefilter looks like. My neighbor does not have a filter on his system and his water is dark in color and smells like Rotten Eggs / Sulfur. My water in the camper is clean and has no smell. Looks fantastic. I am having my water tested both out of the pipe and out from the 2 stage filter system, so I can see what the before and after results are. And then I will update my results. I hope I can come back and state that the water is safe for consuming.

Works better than description
Great product definitely works I live in my rv 5days a week and this definitely softens your water. Make a ton of lather from your soap and soap last longer feel cleaner no water spots it’s a win win. Reactivating is easy

Made in America!!
You can immediately see the difference in quality from "made in China" as soon as you open the box. This unit is really well built and has functioned as predicted for the last 7 months. I would suggest that you cut the salt back to 3 lbs from 4 when you recycle to avoid having slightly salty water for a few days. 3 lbs does the trick just fine. Good product.

Careful With O-ring and Hoses Included
The media could not be loaded. I would not use the blue hoses that are provided. They swell very large and I don’t think they are reinforced. I would not trust them to burst, especially if you’re putting this in one of your compartments. The first softener that was delivered, had an O-ring that was loose, more like it wasn’t quite fitting. I had to put it in the freezer to shrink it just a little to get it to seal.Went to recharge the unit is confusing. I don’t really see clear instructions to come with the software self. When you buy the filter, it does seem to have instructions regarding this.My water is very soft now and I’m really liking that so far. Soap and detergents work better. Hands feel so smooth when washing them. It feels like they’re still some soap.

Perfect for RV living!
So far, so good! The installation was easy and our water tastes good so that's great. But we just installed it last week, so we'll see how it tackles the other hard water problems like limescale and such.

This Water Softener Is Totally Useless For Even Medium Hard Water!
Filtering out PPM (Parts Per Million) of hard water particles, or as water softeners are rated, GPG (Gains Per Gallon) with my 500 PPM hard water = 294 G/gal. Therefore, this unit’s 16,000 G capacity ÷ 294 G/gal = 54 Gallons of capacity before regeneration. At my modest single-user consumption of water of 33G/day = 1.6 Days before a regen is necessary! This is PATENTLY UNACCEPTABLE!OK, how many days will this unit go before a regen, up to the "Hard Water" rating of 10 G/gal? Let's do the math: 16,000 G capacity ÷ 10 G/gal = 1600 Gallons of capacity before regeneration. At my modest single-user consumption of water of 33G/day = 48 Days before a regen is necessary, or 24 Days for two people. This would be workable, although an inconvience to regenerate every 3 weeks …Unfortunately, travelers, especially near a lake or stream will certainly fall into the "Very Hard" water category. Let's say only half the hardness of my mountain water, or 250 PPM. 250 PPM hard water = 147 G/gal. With this unit’s 16,000 G capacity ÷ 147 G/gal = 108 Gallons of capacity before regeneration. With a dual-user consumption of water of 66 G/day = 2.2 Days before a regen is necessary! And THAT'S UNACCEPTABLE!If you have to hook-up to anything but virtually pure water you'll need a whole-house, true, water softener, which is non-transportable, and with a minimum price of $1,400, or more, for 2 or more people! For Your Reference – Generic Water DataGrains Per Gallon PPM ClassificationLess Than 1 GPG Less Than 17.1 PPM Soft Water1 Thru 3.5 GPG 17.1 Thru 60 PPM Slightly Hard Water3.5 Thru 7 GPG 60 Thru 120 PPM Moderately Hard Water7 Thru 10 GPG 120 Thru 180 PPM Hard WaterOver 10 GPG Over 180 PPM Very Hard Water

Great solution for Fulltime RVer's
I have been full time in our 5th wheel for almost 3 years now. I had well water for 30 years when we lived in real house so I am quite familiar with water softeners and how they are supposed to work. This unit works well but we use a lot of water and need to re-gen about once a week. I have been testing daily with test strips so I know when I need to do a re-gen.We probably wash 2-3 loads of laundry every day. This seems in line with what I was expecting since we had our whole house softener set to regen every 2 weeks whether it needed it or not.Not sure how some people claim they can go 6 weeks? Doesn't seem practical to me unless they shower only once a week.I did find the good old Morton water softener pellets with iron reduction work best and probably 1/10th of the cost of table salt. I put a filter full in Hefty bags so I am ready to go. The Morton 40LB bag will last 3 months. $8I use a clear filter similar to the one Pro Aqua sells since Amazon was out of them and fill it full for a regen. Then lay it on the side so it mixes the salt better. I use a standard hose verses the skinny one they supply and just run it with a very slow stream. Takes about an hour. I always fill my fresh water tank before hand so it causes no issues with the wife.We have been using it for a few months now and really like it. I suspect we will get 2 years use before we need to replace the resin. Overall a very good solution for mobile or temporary applications with limited space. All the fittings on my system worked just fine. I think you just need to know how to use a washer properly unless there is a defect.
