An immense media center
This is a large and sturdy media center. My wife is using it for her crafting stamp sets. This holds several hundred items and so we had space to include DVDs, blu-rays, and CDs. It was fairly easy to assemble. Great value for what you get.

Read the directions at least one step ahead of what you are doing...
I received this yesterday and decided to put it together on a work night rather than wait for the weekend. It wasn't too bad to put together on my own. From start to finish it took me 2 1/2 hours. My cats enjoyed watching me assemble it the whole time, one of them more intensely than the other as he thinks he's my superintendent/Quality Control and needs observe everything I do. Anyway, the moral support they provided by just being there was very helpful as putting the back panels on was the most annoying part. Lining things up precisely is very important to make sure that the screws are centered well in the middle of each section so that they don't break through on the sides on the wood. I took my time and this didn't happen thankfully. I will say that one of the panels (top one on bottom section) was just about 1/8" over hang on the top edge (which helped to make sure the screws didn't slip and crack the area they were going into) however this make putting the two sections together a bit more difficult because that little extra 1/8" edge hanging over wouldn't allow the two parts to seat tightly together. So I needed to take the edge of a flat head screw driver and gently lift that edge up to allow the top panel to slide under it (because the two edges kept hitting each other preventing the tight seat) and once I figured that out I gently pushed down and things lined up tightly. I was able to lift top portion to seat it on the bottom portion without any trouble on my own (of course two people is always better if that option is available) Just don't try to stack them in one motion, lift top part to just at least get it on lower part and in the next motion focus more on lifting it less and getting the wooden dowels & metal posts into their corresponding holes. Putting this together on your own can be done so don't not buy this because you don't have someone to help you, except maybe a couple of micromanaging cats for moral support. Just take your time, stay one step ahead with the instructions before doing anything and definitely get familiar with the parts before starting. All in all this is a nice shelf and I look forward to getting all my DVD's (330) on it, with room to grow. People tell me "no one buys DVD's anymore" and I say that it's nice to watch old and new favorites without paying added fees beyond the monthly charge to stream them separately at cost. Besides, we never know what may happens with the ability to stream should we encounter another pandemic or post-apocalyptic event.

An instant regret
I bought this primarily for my video games and movies, it seemed like a great solution to put my stuff all in one place. Firstly this thing comes in so many pieces, it is a true pain to put together and takes quite some time. I put together all of the furniture in my house and have done for years and I can hand on my heart say that this one was the biggest pains I have ever endured.Once together, things don’t get any better. The very bottom that takes all of the weight is so thin and does not come out very far and as such, you can rock it. This thing is not sturdy at all. I have flat wood floors, this should be pretty steady but it somehow it is not. For the price which is kind of high, I was expecting slightly better quality, it just feels like cheap MDF and if I ever move, I know that this thing is not going to make the trip. The back of it is also very thin and although I nailed it in just as I was supposed to, using all of the nails, it is still not flush in places. Lastly the slot in the middle, I knew it was there but it just feels even more useless now that I have it, it doesn’t seem to have any use that I can find, why on earth they didn’t make it a touch taller or a touch shorter and not have the useless small shelf in the middle is beyond me.Overall I am super disappointed but it was so much effort to put together that I can’t possibly take it apart to send it back. It is cheap, poor quality, a pain to put together and not even sturdy, steer clear.

Perfect
I was gifted 365 DVDs of all different genre to share as “rentals” in my community. I needed a way to showcase them in a limited amount of space. This fit and works perfectly with room to add.

Well made and easy to put together. We love it for our home theater. Doesn't take up room and looks very nice. We got 2 and put side by side

Nice looking once assembled but......
This is a nice sturdy DVD shelving unit. But I had major problems and aggravations putting it together. Two pieces came without a label. That was where the fun started. Once I put that section together it was apparent I had put those two pieces in the wrong place. So I removed those and swapped them. But the main issue was that there were no holes for the connectors or dowel pins for go on the upper unit. I rechecked to make sure I did in fact put the pieces in the proper places. The youtube videos were of more help than the instructions. It was one of the hardest pieces I have ever put together due to missing labels and holes not drilled or marked.

great for what it is and at this price
Let's be realistic, I am 58 years old and remember solid grain furniture that would last 20 years. This is saw dust pressed and treated with chemicals and a protective coating on 5 of the 6 sides of the pieces and if you get water on the untreated side, it swells and falls apart. The media shelf is sturdy, gives you plenty of storage room and takes up less space than my 4 shelf book case which held less than 1/2 of what this holds. Some pieces did not have label stickers but were easy enough to match with ones marked with a sticker. I took my time and had a few breaks and it still went up quickly.I will have to avoid using my wet carpet cleaner near it but it should last longer than my previous ones which made it through 7-8 years
