NECA Ninja Gaiden 7" Action Figure

In the past couple of years NECA has produced a variety of figures, based on various franchises. I have had the opportunity to buy several of these figures, and to date, I would rate this figure as the best action figure NECA has released so far.GOOD:The paint applications on this figure are done quite well. Ryu's body, face, and accessories are painted in a highly detailed fashion, which is what we have come to expect from NECA. The Sculpt on the figure is excellent as well. The Sculpt very accurately captures the likeness Ryu Hayabusa from the new Ninja Gaiden games.Ryu's scarf is made out of a soft but durable plastic that is pretty impressive. Just like the paint apps, we have come to expect this from NECA as well.The durability on this figure is above PAR to other NECA figures. I have purchased other figures from NECA in the past, and some have been broken in the package, or quickly became broken upon being opened. I did not have to worry about this at all with Ryu Hayabusa. He has even fallen off shelves,and still there was no breakage. The articulation on this figure puts Ryu Hayabusa in a league of his own. I cannot recall off the top of my head how many points of articulation the figure has, but it is at least 30 points. In addition the joints are sturdy, but not too tight. In short any pose imaginable can be captured by this figure.Bad:Even though the paint applications are detailed and accurate they will chip off (I have only observed this on his facemask/helmet thing)if handled too much.The biggest issue I had with this figure was the accessories. The dragon sword and scabbard are awesome and I had no issue with these items. The Tonfa's are a nice addition but are too big in my opinion. The figure is suppossed to come with three kunai throwing daggers. I know some people have contacted NECA and had them shipped to them. It tried this and no one even emailed me back.Overall:A great action figure in general. I am not a big fan of the games, but I could not refuse purchasing a really cool ninja action figure. (Who can?) If you are a fan of the Ninja Gaiden series, this figure is a must. If you are not, it is still an awesome piece to add to any collection.

My only complaint with this figure was I broke the foot while trying out all the points of articulation and I was being careful. Other that that it looks great and can be put in many different poses. If your a Ninja Gaiden fan you will not be disappointed.

This toy looks impressive but doesn't hold up when being played with. Bought this toy for my 7 year old grandson and it was broken within 15 minutes of just normal play. Not aggressive play, just normal play. Ok if you want to put it on a shelf to just look at but not a toy to play with.

NECA is known for producing high quality figures, and this is no exception. Ryu is highly detailed and would make a fine addition to your collection.Here are a few things I'd like to mention:- Right when you take Ryu out of the packaging, you'll notice a strong smell coming off the figure. I've had him out for a few days and can still detect the acidic odor if I get close enough to him. I'm not sure what it is...maybe the oils used in the paint or something, but I wouldn't keep the figure in close proximity for long periods of time.- It's not apparent when you look at him in the packaging, but once you have him out, you'll notice that Ryu has very long legs. Despite the multiple points of articulation (his toes even move up and down!), it's hard to get his feet planted flat, and to maintain his center of gravity. The figure does have hex-shaped holes in his feet that would fit into pegs in a stand, but there is no stand included, so you have to be careful in setting him up. Note: I've tried using stands from other figures, and their pegs are too large for these holes.- The Dragon Sword looks great, but I was disappointed with the other accessories. The tonfa are overly large and require separate hands (not sure why they didn't go with the Vigoorian Flails or twin katanas). As others have reported, the daggers were not included in the package. I've sent two emails to NECA Customer Service this week, so hopefully I'll get them in the mail soon. That's it, no other accessories included - the bow and arrow or cannon would have been cool.- Ryu's scarf is not cloth but some sort of light plastic. You can't move the tails around , but they do look nice. The scabbard for the Dragon Sword looks great and holds the sword well.- The main sections of Ryu's uniform aren't black (as in the game), but more of a dark charcoal/blue (see the pictures I added).- Ryu's head looks great, right down to the green eyes! The helmet is cool too.I wonder why NECA didn't release other figures like Rachel or Ayane (Momiji was only in one level in this game, and did not appear in the original Ninja Gaiden or its re-releases). Even a Genshin figure would compliment Ryu. Still, it's a good figure to own alone (especially if you enjoyed the games).EDIT: 3 weeks later and still no daggers. So much for customer service.

One of the best action figures ever made. Right up there with Marvel legends.Pros: Super nice sculpt, very detailed, tons of articulation (double jointed in some areas, awesome ball jointed neck) great sculpt on the weapons.cons: NECA forgot to include the throwing daggers (kunai) on a large amount of these figures (mine didn't have the kunai either).

I have waited for a long time for a good ninja toy and finally it was delivered from NECA for the game Ninja Gaiden II. This figure features an awesome Katana aka The Dragon Sword, Throwing Knives, Tonfas, and a set of hands. He has great articulation (although mine is a little slipper so sometimes limbs go where I don't want them too) and great detail. An amazing figure and a must have for anyone that likes Ninjas or is a fan of Ninja Gaiden. Please Neca release more Ninja Gaiden toys.

The entire figure fell apart with minimal handling within 30 minutes! If I had a chance to buy something else, I would.
