Works Very Well
I bought this yarn counter as it looks good as well as being functional. I wanted it to measure my home spun yarn. I set it up next to my wool winder, about 2 feet away, and it works really well. I spin very fine yarn and was worried it would not have enough traction to work and noticed on some pictures the yarn was only put over the top of the wheel but I found it best to wind the yarn around the wheel once which was perfect and it turned and measured very smoothly. I am very pleased with it.

Finally, no more guessing yarn yardage/meterage
What a fabulous little gadget. I like to know how much yardage I have on my yarn before starting a project and this helps me find out exactly how much I have to work with.Works easily, and seems quite accurate. The measurements are metric, so if you want imperial you'll need to do a quick conversion, but that's easy enough. You do have to clamp it to a surface, so take this into account. I keep mine on a table at all times, but if you can't do that I suggest you have a safe place to keep the counter so the moving parts don't get banged up and lose accuracy.
