Berkley PowerBait Power Eggs Floating Magnum Fishing Soft Bait

These are hard to find where I live so I purchased here. I purchased the power egg lemon lime on a whim and after trying them on a nearby reservoir was pleasantly surprised and impressed. These are my go to for this fishery. They have consistently performed every time I’ve been out. Fat rainbow trout in the 15-16” range are common. These eggs float well and are all connected together in the bottle. They stay on the hook well and don’t get damaged as readily as other baits. I will definitely buy again. Highly recommend these.

We have used these Berkley power baits for years trout fishing. Group of 4 people were catching our limits within a couple of hours, while others were wondering what the heck kind of bait we were using. These baits are scented so just always keep a fresh one on the hook and you will catch them like crazy. I have found that 2 balls on a hook is enough to float the hook and work better. I would recommend the orange and yellow color baits for a trout feeding frenzy.

Simply a great alternative to salmon eggs. It's tough to really rate "bait". It's my opinion bait is subjective, because bait by itself doesn't necessarily catch fish. The main factor is how you fish it. Rig setup and technique plays a big role on the effectiveness. That being said, these power eggs are simply a better option to salmon eggs and it a lot of cases better than their dough bait original. They're durable and with that durability comes with a lot of versatility. They can be fished with the current by balancing it's floating design by adding split shots to it to make it neutrally buoyant for a natural presentation. Of course you can simply fish them on the end of a weighted line knowing they'll float. If you're looking for distance, you can chuck it out there knowing it won't rip off like a worm or dough bait. You can add few to a small nightcrawler to help it float above weed beds. Also, this is a great alternative to live bait. It's less messy than working with worms, but note, you do lose the versatility of live bait since this is primarily for trout species. The only downside is that on Amazon, these are expensive. Where I live there are plenty of sports/outdoor shops around that offer these at a reduced cost. If you want to know what people are buying, just look which one's are over a 5 bucks. I've reduced it by 1-star for due to cost/value. Outside of the cost and value, I would recommend this product.Tip: Use egg hooks rather than traditional hooks for trout. Mix-and-match contrasting colors if you think the trout are responding to different colors (favorite combos: white/lime, white/yellow, white/pink). Also, use your leader length and amount of eggs to control the buoyancy and height of the power eggs.

Works very well for trout. Depending on size of hook load 3 or 4. Mix colors; example 2 whites with 1 yellow at end.

I'm sure the size is on the description but if I saw it, it didn't sink in. My fault. These are tiny jars and luckily, I didn't catch any fish using any of it. It's probably better for trout, but nothing else. These are like sample jars.

This is a great trout bait. It is very effective as it floats off the bottom.

I bought this because it really works - IF you know where the fish are and what they (the fish) like. These rainbow trout range from 2 1/2 pounds to 5 1/4 pounds. All caught in about 2 hours time using this PowerBait. This is an average catch for us. Do I recommend this bait? Absolutely!
