The John C. Holmes, of the Stapler world.
What can I say to any perspective buyer, well......it is big, very big, considerably larger that what I had expected a stapler to be, and especially for the price paid (great value), you get a lot of stapler for your money. This truly is the “Stud”, amongst staplers; forget anything you have seen in any high street shops, or supermarket. It measures around 14” in length and 10” in height, from base to the top of the stapler handle. It is the legendary John Curtis Holmes, of the stationery world (please see pictures). It is heavy, and seems well built.Instructions are basic, I initially had issues trying to get the staple carriage out, so that I could load the staples, it was only by chance that I pressed the orange button on the back of the handle (please see picture), for the carriage to slide out, this is not shown in the instructions.I am a casual user of the stapler, and usually staple no more than 25 sheets, on that rarest of occasions; the stapler is built for high volume paper (210 sheets), and I only staple between 2 and 14 sheets, using the larger staples supplied with the stapler, you get an “untidy finish” (please see pictures). I have had to use pliers to flatten the staples down, so beware, as they to stand up, and can cut, and be careful if you are posting, as they could damage the postal systems sorting machines (hefty repair bill). The good thing is, regular sized staples do work (please see pictures), I have tried them out, with no issues, and great finish, effortless!A quick summary; this is a great stapler, if you work in a small office, which deals with high volumes of paperwork, and do not have a dedicated lithographic/printing department, OR someone who likes, to go OTT with their stationery (as I do). I also own a large hole punch, so if size matters (it did to my ex wife), why not get it, you’ll stand out!!Pros: (i) Well made, should last a long time (hopefully).(ii) Can handle large volumes of paper (210 sheets)(iii) Interchangeable staples, so can use large or regular sized staples.Cons: (i) If stapling only a few pages, you will have to buy “regular sized staples(ii) Larger staplers are not readily available.(iii) May need a larger, strengthened desk(iv) You may find the “novelty wears off”, and you get a regular sized, hand-held stapler.

Great Powerful Stapler
Ideal for larger stapling jobs.Takes heavy duty staples, which are best bought as a kit of sizes. However the heavy duty nature means that this needs something to bight into (say 10 pages minimum) as otherwise the staples will overwhelm the paper too much.If you need to staple multiple sheet documents it is ideal, as virtually no effort required on any document up to the 12mm thick I have tried so far.Possibly the only negative is that the base can't be adjusted to pop in the centre staples for A5 booklet format, so have to keep using my old (adapted) DIY Tool for these, as the long arm staplers are so weedy in comparison.

Good quality
My only criticism is that the staple drawer release button (the orange one one top) is quite easy to hit accidentally. That's a small thing, overall I've been very happy with this product.

Bought for home-office use
My review is based on light use on a home-office environment. At the time of purchase, this was about £15 and appears as robust as any of the branded alternatives that are available but at a far higher price.Using this for occasional, bulk stapling projects, this has been absolutely fine. I've used it to staple upto 96 sheets, with the supplied staples, without fault.Where it fails for me is on smaller documents, between around 20 to 40 sheets, where a standard stapler won't function. With documents of this quantity of pages, the staples jam in the stapler head. There's no problem removing the document, so far, but it does have to be pulled, quite forcefully, to release the staple from the head. This issue may be resolved by using different sized staples but I haven't tried this yet.For an office environment, I can see that the inability to staple differing amounts of paper could be an issue.Good value, works well but with limitations.

Staples like butter
Useless product. Staples just buckle rather than piercing the paper. Cant handle any more than about 20 sheets.
