There was no setup, I just put in the batteries and it controls the TV right out of the box. I bought it because of the number buttons. The factory remote didn't have them and you had to use a tiny button to scroll until you found the channel you wanted. This is great. Just put in the channel number and it switches very quickly. The only thing I really had to do was to assign the setup menu my Cable box and DVD player. I can now turn them on also with just one button. Great price but the price varies from store to store and website to website. shop around.

Really good replacement for samsung tvs my kids always lose the remotes in the house order 2 of these as back ups and work flawlessly no set up required just point and use the edges are a little ruff but for the price not a problem would recommend

So far so good. Getting the back off to put the batteries in was a little of a challenge. Set up was a breeze. They work both as they should. No more fighting over the remote with Hubby.

Works to turn on my tv and mute but does not turn off my tv ☹️. I use it most to mute the tv so it was worth the money to buy it. Yay! Mute!!

I had trouble getting this to work until I saw on a YouTube video that I had to hold the power button while pointing at the TV before inserting the batteries. Some information included with the remote would have been helpful in this regard. Now it works great.

Needs some assembly (easily understood on YouTube) but instructions included did not say anything about installation of the heatsink- it is not advertised that it needs installation. Hardware (small screwdriver) was included and very useful .

Mostly works great. The only issue is that the menu buttons do not have the ability to long press. The original remote did. This has created some issue with accessing menus and different features. For instance you cannot edit the Samsung home menu bar with this remote. I thought I was going crazy but I grabbed a remote from my other TV and found out you have to long press the hime button for it to work. This remote only allows a single press and will not hold. It's a small issue but it caused me a lot of head scratching.

I used reviews to help me purchase this remote so I am just co-signing reviews by saying it works great. All I had to do is take it out of the packaging, put batteries in it and then it turned on our patio tv. Great remote if you are needing more options on the remote like numbers etc vs the standard too basic samsung one.
